Leaving aside the issue of charity on a Catholic forum;
It is against forum rules to bait another poster:
It is against forum rules to make ad hominem attacks on another poster;
It is against forum rules to reference the posts of a poster in another thread in support of or to justify an ad hominem attack on that poster.
You have done all these in just a couple of posts on this thread. Just sayin’.

We are now both guilty of taking this thread off topic - another infringement of forum rules.
You seem to see nothing wrong with offering an apology in one post and continuing an ad hominem attack in the next one. And then breaking another forum rule by calling into question the Catholicism of another poster.
Please, and believe me, I’m advising this in your best interests, read the forum rules.

yellow belle i have no problem admitting when i’m wrong and regularly am. i did not quote rules you did i was showing you when you do this you have to obey the rules yourself,
the other piont is you keep making allegations without referncing the post, that makes it too hard to reply to someone.anyway i have no interest in continuing this.

'I’ve noticed on Twitter and on the internet generally, defenders of David Norris saying that both he and Ezra Nawi should be forgiven and that it is un-Christian to do otherwise. And of course if David Norris is genuinely sorry over his part in this episode, and for his remarks concerning pederasty, then he should be forgiven.
And if Ezra Nawi is genuinely sorry for the statutory rape of a 15 year old, then he should be forgiven too.
But once against this call to forgive and forget in respect of Norris and Nawi demonstrates the liberal/left double standard at work. When a bishop says sorry for not bringing child abuse cases to the attention of the civil authorities, when has forgiveness ever been shown by the media, by the political establishment, by those now calling for forgiveness to be extended to Norris and Nawi?
I am not aware of too much Christian forgiveness being displayed on those occasions. Instead, the media, the politicians etc try to outdo one another in their expressions of outrage and condemnation.
So why the call to forgive Norris and his former partner and the insistence on continuing to condemn a bishop even he has said sorry, and even resigned? Can someone please explain why this is not a double standard?
It is easy to forgive someone you like. It is much harder to forgive someone you dislike. Let us see if the same forgiveness we are being asked to show David Norris and Ezra Nawi is also extended to the bishops who did not do as they should have done when child abuse cases were made known to them.

Nothing short of a complete withdrawal out of public life, including health and education, so that they can build their utopia of abortion, gay marriage, divorce, euthanasia, the abolition of private property, the abolition of the family, the abolition of history, the equating of human beings with units of labour. In general the paving of the way for Satan’s kingdom on earth or something like that.
