Well its a few more weeks and we still dont have a response, so I wonder what measures the government intend to take. That’ll be the day the mouse roared.
And what I wonder would the response that would suit the Kenny’s coalition partners in the Labour party?
Mr Kenny paints with a very wide brush, an over generalization of the problem, when it’s clear many were doing their duty faithfully, some fell, some failed, Christ fell 3 times, we’ll fall a lot more, Mr Kenny will fall. By his reckoning we should blame Jesus for Judas, and His denier Peter so on and so forth…

politicians are simply the scum of the scum… is there even one on the planet that has morals?
A cheap generalisation.

It also makes me wonder what best describes Church leaders who deliberately covered up cases of child abuse and moved abusers from parish to parish - in some cases from country to country - enabling them to continue to prey on children?

Possibly misguided?

That was a mega mistake, sack-cloth and ashes needed…

Indeed other institutions failed to protect children and leading people within those organisations displayed an equal disregard to child safety as the Catholic Church as an organisation has displayed over many decades. That is not an excuse; it is an indictment - particularly of an organisation that claims to have a direct line to the Divine.

We need to ensure endemic child abuse within the Church or any other institutions is consigned to the past and it is never allowed to reappear.

We are now both guilty of taking this thread off topic - another infringement of forum rules.

You seem to see nothing wrong with offering an apology in one post and continuing an ad hominem attack in the next one. And then breaking another forum rule by calling into question the Catholicism of another poster.

Please, and believe me, I’m advising this in your best interests, read the forum rules. 👍
Are you a super moderator or what ? your " forum rules " on the brain, and your posts lack charity, reminds me of the Kris Kristofferson " Sunday morning Christian, singing louder than the rest " or the Pharsiees who were hung up on rules ( protocol ) but no substance.
If you can’t post with manners then just don’t post, I find you offensive to put it mildly…
