Is anyone else worried about having the mark of the beast

Is anyone else worried about it, it has been mentioned in Isiaih 24, Daniel, Ezekiel and the book of revelations, sister lucia pointed it out being to do with the third secret. we are clearly in the great tribulation.
 
As Catholics, we have a different understanding of the mark of the beast than from our Protestant brethren. Also, we do not believe in the rapture (or at least not in the same ways as protestants do). Please do not also go into conspiracy theories linking the third secret with the end of times.

First of all, the book of Revelations is full of imagery and symbolisms. As Catholics, we understand the beast as a reference to the various Roman emperors (but mainly of Nero). According to many exegetes, the mark of the beast alludes to Roman coins which contains the image of the Emperor.

That is it. Try reading the Revelation in light of the liturgy and Christ’s ultimate triumph instead of reading it as a prophecy which we have to be wary of.
 
No worries. I like to keep it simple: Love God and love your neighbor, and everything will turn out fine.
 
Even if it is some physical mark, it must be desired, submitted to, willingly accepted. If it is branded on you against your will it is nothing but a scar and scars are not sinful.

“the beast” (satan & his legions) don’t need to “mark” anyone or anything

the legions of satan are running rampant

The mark? I though they were just tattoos…

Seriously, I think the mark would be on your soul, not your skin…
 
I’m not afraid of having the mark, nor do I believe that we are in the tribulation.

I am concerned about being in a state of grace today because I never know when I will be called to judgment.
 
More concerned about the great deception. What Is truth? What we are taught today, or what has been always taugnt?

2 Thessalonians 2:
7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way.8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, and the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by his appearing and his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one by the activity of Satan will be with all power and with pretended signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are to perish, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends upon them a strong delusion, to make them believe what is false, 12 so that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

I am confident that I will be gone from this earth before that happens.
 
I do too. Since I think conscience is the sanctuary where God speaks to man. Satan wants us to listen to his voice there.

I think it’s a malformed conscience that points the will at the good of satan not the good of God. Then that marked head would manifest works that mark the hand.

Catholic hospitals were almost shut down to avoid the mark thinking of it that way. I’m thinking the battle of the conscience is the battle ground.

If it becomes worrisome it’s a distraction. There are things in life that really matter.
 
No. I pray to God every day, go to Mass often, ask for help from Mary and the Saints, and put all my trust in Jesus. God and Mary protect their faithful children. I don’t need to be afraid of beasts or marks or the Devil or any of that.

Please speak to a priest ASAP if you are continuing to be bothered by these thoughts. I quote the end part of St. Faustina’s Divine Mercy Prayer:

“And we expect to receive everything promised us by Jesus in spite of all our wretchedness, for Jesus is our hope; Through His merciful heart, as through an open gate, we pass through to Heaven.”

Or, as Joan of Arc said, “Be a good child, and God will help you.”

I think the world would do better to focus on Sister Lucia’s words about prayer and penance offered up for the souls in purgatory, for the Holy Father, and for reparation to Jesus and Mary, and also about the Rosary and monthly devotion to Mary. A lot of these folks who like to make scary speeches about “tribulations” conveniently miss or ignore the prayer and penance part of the message.
