If a child’s Grandfather and that same child’s Aunt, the Grandfather’s daughter, were cohabitating (for economic reasons, let’s say) and raising the aforementioned child because the child was orphaned from his/her parents,… would it be OK for the Grandfather and the Aunt (father and daughter) to be “devoted to each other” (aka perform sex acts with each other) because that would “deepen their loving bond” and make a “better environment” for the child?

You can justify anything with the logic you’re using,… but that is a very human tendency.

The mind and the body are one thing. I believe it’s actually a heresy, though I’m not sure which heresy, to “split” the human being into compartments so as to justify that which is otherwise unjustifiable.

So, what you’re saying is that any activity which you FEEL makes for a “loving” and “nurturing” home, is acceptable.

Is the FEELING that homosexual sex acts between the guardians of children really valid? For you apparently they are. Are they to me? No. 🙂 We disagree on that.

Clarity? Where…? 🙂

is the fruit of the spirit mere feelings or in themselves are they spirit as well?

when jesus spoke of good fruit do think he was talking about feeliings?

I believe it is. Who are we to judge,we are here to love one another
not judge, thats his job. we are not GOD.
By the measure you judge shall you be judged.
Plain and simple.

…I have no idea if He attended a stoning. I seriously doubt that He would have thrown any rocks AT a stoning, though. I have no proof for that, but it seems highly unlikely…
The story of the woman caught in adultery is found in John 8:3-11. Jesus bent over and wrote something on the ground. When He said, “Let the one without sin cast the first stone” the crowd cleared. After the others left, Jesus asked her “Where did they go? Has anyone condemned you?” She answered “No one.” Jesus told her He didn’t condemn her either–then He said “Go! From now on don’t sin.”

Feet, we aren’t throwing stones or condemning you. But we repeat the words of Jesus to stop sinning. You deserve better.

For sure he wasnt talking about homosexual behavior.

Feelings are feelings. They can reflect the Holy Spirit, or they can reflect the devil. They are psychobiological phenomena, and they are notoriously fickle and unreliable. Discernment is a matter of right thinking and good intentions. Feelings cannot be placed above right thinking when making moral decisions.
when jesus spoke of good fruit do think he was talking about feeliings?
Emphatically not – or at least not to feelings divorced from objective Goodness and Truth. In the language of the New Testament, “love” is not a “good” feeling. It is the principle of active charity which derives from the Person of Jesus Christ. It often involves doing things that do not “feel” good at all.

Are you suprprised that sinful people who were members of the Church have done bad things in the past, and will do so again in the future?

Does the Church have to be composed entirely of non-sinners who never do evil to make the Church “valid”?

Those facts neither surprise me, nor invalidate the Church.

The Holy Spirit never deems evil acceptable. The Holy Spirit never deems good unacceptable.

One uses stones and the other uses rapid oxidation. What is your point?

I have no idea if He attended a stoning. I seriously doubt that He would have thrown any rocks AT a stoning, though. I have no proof for that, but it seems highly unlikely.
on another subject what does the magisterium say about testing (thess) and fellowship (1john1)

What are the verses of Thessalonians that you’re interested in the Magisterium’s views on?

As for 1John1,…

“(1) That which was from the begining, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life, (2) the life was made manifest and we saw it, and testify to it, and proclaim to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was made manifest to us”

…speaks about the reality of Jesus Christ.

What do you think it means?

i look at it as a guide as to how i am to witness to those whom i share inheritance in christ. actually how i am to witness… period.

feetxxxl,

I gave my witness way back some time ago. But in case you have forgotten do you do any medical reading on why homosexual behavior is unsafe? Maybe God has known this all along since He did have a little hand in designing us. I agree the Bible says little if anything about homosexual attraction but it forbids, for our own good, homosexual sex. Open your mind to hear this please. You may start saving the lives of many and that is what the Spirit calls us to do.

Jim, although you appeal to the most “base” of the arguments against homosexual behavior, you certainly appeal to the most immediately understandable. I wish more people who work with our youth would resuscitate the good ol’ terror of disease . . . It might not be the BEST way to teach, but it sure kept a lot of us out of trouble in our youth! And good Lord! The stuff ya can catch these days is horrific.

to the person who sent me a personal note. i wanted to respond, but i accidentally erased your message, and dont know how to send a personnal message myself. please resend the message so that i can reply. thank you.

Ok-so what exactly is it you are witnessing to? Can witnessing the “acceptabililty” of sinful behavior be done in then name of Christ?

if you have a belief that something is not of, or is of god, i do not try to dissuade you. i can only ask questions about your belief, and share with my own understanding and its reasoniing. i believe in 2tim3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

but scripture says that we should test our belief( 1 thess)“test everything”…the same way they tested(1john1) to see if the one who called himself the christ, was really the christ.

what is the difference between testing what is christ, and what is of the spirit of christ?

my point is that to have witness in christ, requires we are walking in the light. if we are walking in the light ,then we have fellowship with one another.(1john1) if we have fellowship we are embodying the fruit of the spirit,(galatians 5) which of itself is spirit. (spirit creates spirit)

if we are having fellowship then, we are acknowledging our shared relationship in christ. in doing so we are acknowledging, that we all are sinners(1john1). we are not looking at each other thru our respective sins, but are looking at and holding up, speaking to what god created.

as an act of faith we trust, that the holy spirit that he will show us together all we need to see.(matthew 18)

whatever is seen, is seen together . whatever is acknowledged, is acknowledged together… and unity of john 16 is lived out. surely we can trust christ’s words that the holy spirit that he will show us all we need to see.(matt18)

what the holy spirit shows us (JOHN 16)in our act of fellowship. it gives us WITNESS that testifies as to whether what we believe, is of christ or not of christ.

in short if you want to judge homosexuals in general then then extend your elf in the fellowship of 1john1. if you want to judge your brothers in christ(believers in christ who you share the same inheritance), then do the brotherly thing in christ, test your belief of their sin by fellowshipping with them in the spirit of john 18:20 and 1john1 in christ

otherwise your belief is an unsubstantiated belief, it is without witness because it is without witness thru fellowship in christ.

In other words you have convinced yourself, via a few out of context scripture verses, that sin is really not sin since you have tried it and its great. Now it appears that you are tyring to convince us that :

A. We should realize it isnt a sin and

B. Even if we think its a sin we cant be right becuase we have never commited the sin.

There can be no end to this discussion-we keep telling you the teachings of the Church and you keep telling us your personal interpeation of John 16 negates everything we or anybody says.

You should give it up-you will find no validation of your behavior here. it isnt ours to give.

i said my witness was that i saw no sin.

im not telling you what your witness will be ? i have no idea what the holy spirit will show you.

im only saying the scripture instructs us to test everything. and as christian that is thru fellowship because that is when we are walking in the light.

why is fellowship a problem?

Fellowship is not a problem-homosexual behavior is. you have creatd a god in you own image-a god who approves of anything you decide to do. A great “religion” to live by-i am not sure it is a great religion to die by.

I’ll leave the citation of NT prohibitions of the homosexual act to people more versed in Biblical memorization than I, but I will address what the TITLE of your post (though, strangely enough, not the content) asks:

Being anti-homosexual IS anti-Christian. As Christians, we are called to love our neighbor as ourselves. We are called to remember that our Lord came for the sinners, not the righteous, and that we ALL are sinners. Being “anti” another human being is the antithesis of Christ’s message.

That said, being anti-sin is NOT anti-Christian. Homosexual acts are sinful. Are they the only sinful behavior humans engage in? Certainly not. Are there plenty of heterosexual acts that are sinful that we should also avoid? Absolutely. Thanks to our fallen nature, the varieties of sinful acts available to us are legion.

Finally, your post seems to argue a false premise- it seems to indicate that those who view homosexual acts as sinful deny the presence of grace in homosexuals. This is simply false. Many Christians are aware and sympathetic to the cross homosexual individuals have to bear. All of us? No- but see? We all sin.
being gay or lesbin is anti christian they should be killed

how can homosexuality be a sin when the essence of that orientation can embrace the fruit of the spirit …love, joy, peace, goodness, kindness, self-control,patience,gentleness,and faithfulness. homosexuals have not been found lacking in any sector of society compared to heterosexuals including the military or the institution of marriage.

how can same sex attraction being equal in spirit to that heterosexual attraction be deemed a sin?

john 4 says that the true worshippers will worship the father in spirit and in truth. if the spirit of homosexual couplimg mimics the the spirit of heterosexal coupling, embracing all the things of the fruit of the spirit how can it be deemed less.

surely there were prohibitions given in leviticus that of themselves were not sins…eating anything that did not have cloved hoof.

and the people of sodom were guilty of attempted gang rape of someone who had been received in a household as a guest.

no where in secular society or even in the church have homosexuals been identified as the shame based lusters described in romans.

and in the epistles is the original translation(king james)“nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind” an inditement against homosexuality, when we are also aware there is abuse with heterosexual pardners given the spirit of their coupling.

lastly…1john1 gives an example of how we are to have valid witness(1) we hear (2)we touch(physically emotionally and spiritually)(3)we see(with our heats)(4)and our t witness is done in fellowship with one another in walking in the light of christ.

anything less is not a true witness and invites the possibility of false witness.
yes being homosexual is being ANTI christian

Sexuality only serves the purpose of procreation, so any other sexual interaction would be a sin.
how can same sex attraction being equal in spirit to that heterosexual attraction be deemed a sin?
Because a same sex attraction leading to homosexual sex is not procreative.

Also, the homosexual subculture does not embrace the fruits of the spirit. It is a lifestyle based upon self-gratification by definition. That is not serving God which is the means by which the fruits of the spirit are produced.
john 4 says that the true worshippers will worship the father in spirit and in truth. if the spirit of homosexual couplimg mimics the the spirit of heterosexal coupling, embracing all the things of the fruit of the spirit how can it be deemed less.
This is like saying that anyone who quotes scripture is holy, so why isn’t the devil holy since he can quote scripture? He mimics the pious, doesn’t he?

I think we should be careful defining what is right or wrong based on temporary circumstances. A pornographer may have all the joy and peace in the world, never go hungry, give to the Salvation Army at Christmas and so on. That doesn’t make his profession any less sinful.
