Is Bible Without Error?

In the past 500 years, it has been asserted that the bible is without error. This is the corner that “Biblones” have painted themselves into. After all, if one has only the bible as the sole rule for their faith, the ego requires - even demands - that it be considered correct.

But, what is “correct”? Individual exegesis? Inductive reasoning? Ulterior motives? Desire to remain separate from Christ’s Church?

The only error in the Bible that could have any meaning, is an error that will mislead us about salvation.

Is there any error in the Bible that will deprive us of salvation?

Well, “Biblones” (my term) have arrived at the conclusion that no works of charity are needed; that the sacraments - even baptism - is not needed. The gospel of prosperity; the ‘Word of Faith’ ministries, Oneness Pentecostals and many others - all bible based and zero of which resemble the Church Christ founded.

Pretty serious errors - but those who hold to this are ignoring mountains of scripture and as importantly: the apostolic teaching.

But - ask yourself this: Is this how Jesus meant for the faith to be handed on?
