HA! Nice try. :yup: No, I believe I’ll take a breather from discussing people’s favorite musicians for a while. In the meantime I’ll do something a little less nerve-wracking, like blowdry a cat.

So much time and space about a 27 year old song from a washed-up rock & roll act!

I used to like Billy Joel. Glass Houses was one of my favorite - get this - 8 tracks!
I saw him at the Richfield (Cleveland) Coliseum in 1984. But ya know what? He got old and lost his voice. His stuff is a bunch of moldy oldies now. Geez, he couldn’t stay married to Christie Brinkley.

Forget him. I have.

What!!! I love this song. I must say that as much as I enjoy listening to Billy Joel, I would not let my 11-year-old daughter listen to him.

:yawn: Child’s play. Try WASHING the little furry demon first (especially after an 11-year-old barfs on him at 3 in the morning… on second thought, never mind, that was the one time the cat actually beat my husband to the shower!)

Oh man, “A spoonful of sugar…”. Isn’t that about drugs?? Mary Poppins could float/fly after all.
Anyway, after this thread, I can’t get OTGDY out of my head. I’m now trying to learn it on the guitar, but that bloody “F” chord…!!!

  1. Dave Matthews sucks. Just plain & simple. It’s not that his lyrics aren’t good, it’s that his MUSIC, VOICE, LYRICS et all aren’t good. That’s all.
  2. No, to the person who asked, you are not the only one surprised that it has gotten this long.
  3. goes to look up lyrics to “Scene from an Italian Restaurant” . . . btw, what is “Captain Jack” about? At first my mom & I thought it was about drinking. Is it about doing crack or something?
 
disagree about DMB. dave is a genius, i think, in the realm of music. i don’t like his lyrics, for the most part (although the ‘i am no superman’ song is pretty cool), but his songs all rock musically - esp, as much as i hate to say it, ‘crash’.
