Is Christine O Donnell a Catholic or Evangelical?

What religion exactly does Delaware senate candidate Christine O Donnell practice? I’ve read articles which state that she was raised Catholic, yet became a “born again” Evangelical in her 20’s. Yet I’ve also read that she now attends both Catholic mass and evangelical services. This seems to me like a serious matter of religious “bi polar” disorder. How can (And why would) someone stratle the fence about what faith they practice? I admit that maybe family pressure would force O Donnell to remain, at least nominally connected with Catholicism, but what does this tell us about what she really believes?

Hmmm… does it matter? Are we supposed to vote for someone, or against someone, based upon their religious identity?

I don’t see why it matters what specific religion(s) she claims; what matters is what principles she adheres to in practice. Is she pro-life, is she pro-family, does she respect religious freedom and does she walk the talk as they say. I am a devout Catholic but I also attend Gospel Bluegrass festivals, go to Christmas concerts at a local Bible Church, and lunch with the Lunch Bunch at a local Lutheran church, am I religiously bi-polar (can’t lay any claim to prior witchcraft dabbling though)?
 
If it matters, she is a devout Catholic. But I agree with the others, it should not matter. Her devotion to good Christian values is what matters.

Personally, the proclaimed faith of a candidate (Catholic or otherwise) matters to me simply because it gives me a benchmark. If some says they are Catholic, but lives and votes in an un-Catholic way, I am not going to be inclined to believe they will actually keep any promises.
 
I agree that one should not vote for a particular canidate based solely on religion, but why do certain media outlets label O Donnell as Evangelical? Was she in the past connected to the Evangelical movement and, if so has she returned to the Church since her involvement with them?

Can a Catholic vote for someone who has left the Church?
 
There are a lot of mixed marriages in which spouses attend different churches. I’ve never seen a priest ask non-catholics to leave a mass. On the contrary, many have announcements that everyone is welcome. I think they mean it. I would rather see Ms. O’Donnell attending different churches than none at all.
 
Ever watch EWTN’s “The Jouney Home” with Marcus Grodi? Not everyone finds their way to the Church immediately or instantaneously. To some it is an in and out, up and down “jouney home”.
 
She used to be a spokesperson for CWA, which has some pretty anti-Catholic connections–but that was long time ago.
