You actually have no facts, just your opinion. Guess what I am actually circumcised and guess what? Not mutilation and everything works. It literally is excess skin.
There are studies on it and even strongly anti circuncision associations.
I will not offer any links as it is a graphic topic, so have no place on this Catholic forum.

Of course a man who is circuncised has still everything that “works” and I am happy that you feel confortable with that.

That does not mean that circuncision will never induce small changes in sexual intimacy. At least for some couples.

Oh well. Then for cosmetic and conjugal reasons.
Cosmetic, it is a matter of personal preference (but why should we want to be aesthetical on an area that is completely private, I don’t understand…)

For conjugal reasons, the facts tend to be anti circuncision. Some couple would prefer circuncision but their values are dependant their culture.

The young boy I knew needed the hypospadias repair, his future sexual function and fertility would have been effected.

If it is just a cosmetic defect, it’s probably better to leave it alone.
I am happy if the operation works for him.

Difficult topic, isn’t it?

And to be sure of the consequences could be can be difficult too…

You don’t have to understand. Its private. You may pass by a hundred different people on the street with tattoos or piercings in private places. What does it matter to you?

Your subjective opinion. Some people think it looks nice.
No I’m saying both cut and uncut look weird. It shouldnt be about looks, otherwise why do people take offense to piercing? Tattoo? Studs?

Some people get tongue piercing to enhance oral stimulation. Many here would find that distasteful. Others would see no difference.

So before you ring the “it’s relative” bell, think carefully.

I would think it is unsane. Yet, if you believe that I should not have an opinion because it is not me, why ask the question?

One reason why topics that are “private”. When it is promoted, it is embraced by many people and then it become a cultural norm. And it finally have good chances to impact you in a way or another, such as love ones.

I have noticed a tendency on CAF to regard many US customary cultural practices as normative and not rely open to question against Catholic teaching, in this case, I imagine, the theology of the body. Other examples would be private health care, gun ‘rights’, nuclear deterrence and veneration of flags.

I am not here trying to reopen discussion on any of these but asking if my impression that many US cultural practices, such as the medically unnecessary circumcision of health male infants are rarely subjected by US Catholics to analysis against a background of Church teaching.

I have. There is no benefits or cons. I am living proof it makes ZERO difference.

At the time I was born (long ago) and for quite a few decades thereafter, it seems to me that doctors routinely circumcised newborn boys as a matter of course.

Two posters here, two different experiences.

It does not mean it make no difference, just that you can’t compare as you only have your experience…

Which shows no difference either way.

God created you this way for a reason yes?
Well the science both for function and health is on the UN-circumcised.

The foreskin offers protection, lubrication and function.

So back to you. Debunk that, how does exposing the head make for better; what exactly?

Exactly. Let’s talk data.
