Is confession and confirmation the same as getting saved?

Should I only go to confession if I want to stop my sin? I confess because I know it’s wrong but I don’t want to stop completely.
“Give me chastity not just yet.”
I haven’t completely stopped lying. I don’t like it or exaggerating. I honestly doubt I’ll stop lying for the rest of my life.
If one has no intention of stopping a particular sin, then Contrition is not there nor is sorrow for the sin.

Yep, I knew it! I asked you the other day! Hi there nice new name. I like it

It’s happy and positive

Protestants really know their Bible. If I say I don’t know, it’s an opening to be evangelized to. I attend my friends young adult worship service at a non-denominational Church.

We don’t go by bible alone. The way Protestants use the bible is not the way Catholics use the bible. We use sacred tradition too. We have the Holy See

Lol. I thought I was more mysterious. Lol. My friend found me on forum. She recognized my writing style and tone so well.

We are just one big CAF family. I read Irishmoms text in an Irish accent…

And when we say, I don’t want to, we should think of Jesus being nailed to a cross for us.

Then it sounds a bit selfish of us saying, I don’t want to follow the Commandments.
I don’t think that type of reinforcement works for everyone. I like to look at it like this. God made the commandments for our own benefits. Having sex outside of marriage not only causes havoc for broken families but also singles. When you love a person enough to have sex you forego all other things in your life. You leave your parents, change your lifestyle, appearances…etc… God wants us to be chaste for our protection for when that ends up being a temporary engagement it causes great heartache. Just my 2 cents. Have a good night everyone

You won’t. Stay with the Sacraments. Pray, live, stay close to God

Some people find that heretical or wrong that Catholics added more books to the Bible. I need to attend an apologetics class. Not to fight off Protestants but to better understand my faith

You’re not the first person to refer me to a priest. It looks like I cannot manage my own life by seeking help. I probably should stop expressing myself online, even more opinions to encounter. I wonder how some people keep questions, doubts and inconsistences and confusion in their head.

I think anyone who has “their head on straight” when it comes to faith and a relationship with God, has talked at length with a priest. Usually on many occasions. I have and I find that, if they are not totally doctrinaire, there is a well of empathy and understanding there. It really isn’t a weakness to ask for some well grounded direction and understanding. Try it, you might be surprised.

Yes but not Catholics. We Catholics do what we are supposed to do and have extra books in the bible as approved by the Magisterium

Forget about fighting off Protestants. If we start to debate, we have already lost the fight.

@Irishmom2 , I hope you are reading that in Aussie
