nothing can be created out of nothing, the big bang didnt turn a rock into a flower…noir did we come from a ape, and this is the danger of schools, they teach it as fact, and some catholics here talk like evolution is real, humans where always humans, maybe we changed as our environment but we were always human.

the church is the only thing that clincs history as far back as the first written works…science evolution is a bunch of people thinking about whatt happened…and dont have proof they have a theory, everyone else is crazy…and hypocrites thats that say show me god is there and then i will believe…thats bull…thou shall not test god…

i feel sad for people calling themselves Catholics and believe evolution real…i start to think some people on this board just to bring down the church teaching.
I feel sorry for you! Your claims are untestable, personal blather. You haven’t stated one fact and linked one source. You mischaracterize evolutionary theory. Where does the theory say we come from apes? You claim no true Catholic would agree with that this theory best explains our origins, but several Popes have, including John Paul II. Who told you that your opinion can pass itself off as science? Do you have problems with the Theory of Gravity or Number Theory or Theories of Relativity? What are your theories?

No living scientist feels the way you do, and no Catholic representative from the Vatican to the laity has taught that the Church sanctions Creationism in the scientific age. Stop trying to be a Protestant.

I

You need to stop spreading misinformation. I’m getting tired of asking you to post links and other forms of objective support.
Perhaps this is because such links and other forms of objective support don’t exist. If they did exist, you can be rest-assured we would have been given them. The fact that we haven’t is an indication they can’t be found.

just because you say so or think so does not make it so - neither you nor Aquinas are infallible - the Church and the Kolbe center definately teach that and how the world was created in an instant complete and out of nothing in 6x24hr days and not via a big bang over millions of years - twinc
The Kolbe Center is not infallible! Rather, a Creationist propaganda outlet designed to look Catholic. All the testimonials are Catholics who seem to concede that their bible-toting Protestant brothers and sisters have brought them closer to Jesus and that Church Authority is something to be scoffed at.

The Church never said 6x24 hour days. Sources, please.

wow, show me any proof the pope or the church supports evolution, show me, give me a link from vatican website, people calim this and that but no proof, they just say the church said it. and no im not potestant…where did that come from, no i dont except gravity, but then you reject alot of the bible…you reject all of genesis…because it cant be one or the other,

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_Church_and_evolution

people talking for the church without information to support there views, the bible shows how we were created…i dont reject gravity, god created rules of the earth, this is sad, this is a the classic bull that people say when you dont believe in what a theory tells you, oh im catholic but this and that i reject most of bible because man sad this…please, you know what this wont go anywhere, i believe in something and you dont and leave it at that.

so what do you think then, big bang created by god big bang created by nothing (so no god thus you reject god) god didnt create us but created cells and bacteria, amino acids??

you defend science but then who create and how in your opinion, where is god in science of evolution? people attack what i saw so what is there opinion of what they think?

Mar, did you read the Wikipedia article? It says right there in the first paragraph that the Church unofficial position is theistic evolution.
people talking for the church without information to support there views,
Have you been reading this thread? Numerous sources have been cited. Here are some of mine:

There’s plenty of other sources on this thread too so how about you read your own source, read this thread, and then we’ll talk.

the problem is i open to peoples opinions the problem is they are defending science version and god is nota part of science version of creation, we are not talking about hybrid thinking where god has a step, people are saying science is 100% right, and if thats true and you read it, to science there is no god and we are nothing more then chance.

thats the dangers here…i dont mind people saying they believe god had a hand on how we evolved, its when they inbrass since, claim they are catholic, yet reject god had anything to do and inbrace sciences version, no god, in fact no ALL but many sole mission besides being scientists is to disprove god is real.

What you have stated here is exactly what people are saying; that if we evolved God did have a hand in it. You need to read what has been discussed on the thread. What people are objecting to are certain statements concerning Catholic teaching. It has been stated that the Catholic Church teaches all Catholics must believe each creative day was 24 hours long and there was no big bang. The Church does not teach this and it is totally misleading, to say the least, to state it does. They are not rejecting God, saying He isn’t real, or saying He was not involved in creation.

The Church does NOT teach that the world was created “in 6x24 hour days.”
The Catechism of the Catholic Church (a higher authority than the Kolbe center), para. 337 – **“Scripture presents the work of the Creator symbolically as a succession of six days **of divine “work”, concluded by the “rest” of the seventh day.”
exactly and no doubt or dispute at all except that here as elsewhere individuals misinterpret and are unaware and insist that what they have misinterpreted is what the Church teaches - so see for yourself that the Church presents the work of the Creator symbolically as a succession of six days of divine work - there is no mention of the six days being symbolic - the Church and reason dictate the proper sense is 6 x 24hr days whilst the improper sense can be any period of time - which is what yom can be except as regards the six days of creation - twinc

if we evolved ? - but we did not evolve and the Church says so and accepting this is binding on Catholics - all Catholics, the Church says must accept that the six days of creation in the proper sense are 6 x 24hr days and only in their improper sense any other period of time - the big bang was as big a hoax by a Catholic priest as was the piltdown hoax by another Catholic priest that many also accepted - not all priests and scientists are reliable - Euclid stated parallel lines never meet, this was accepted but Einstein proved they can and do - anyway what went bang since Science dematerialised matter,so no matter before or after the big bang that had nothing to bang etc - twinc

If you succeed at convincing me with proof that evolution is a fact, I will walk away from religion altogether. If it’s true, then no one need bother.

If you cannot provide a source from the Church saying belief that creation was done in 6 LITERAL 24 HOUR DAYS IS BINDING ON ALL CATHOLICS, I respectfully ask that you retract that statement. You can’t just say “the Church says so” and not provide anything except “google it” or “kolbe center says so.”

Before you respond, read forums.catholic-questions.org/showpost.php?p=6681612&postcount=11 especially point 2

The Church does not teach Catholics must accept each creative day was 24 hours long. Everyone on this thread knows that, and saying it over and over won’t change that.

You have been asked by other posters to provide sources. Other than to tell people to read for themselves what the wonderful KolbeCenter has to say; which everyone knows does not carry any authority, you have offered nothing in terms of sources. It can only be concluded the reason you have not done so is because you can’t. I’d like you to prove me and others wrong, but I’m confident you won’t.

I and other posters have posed several questions to you. You have not answered one of them. Again, it can only be concluded this is because you can’t. Again, I’d like you to prove me and others wrong, but I’m confident you won’t.

When you answer one question you have been asked, as opposed to churning out the same rhetoric in response to everything, you might become credible enough to respond to. Until such times as you do, you are not credible enough to engage with in discussion, because you have nothing of any value to offer.

I did not say acceptance of the six days was binding but acceptance we did not evolve was binding by Lateran Council and Vatican 1 - the Church also teaches that the consensus of the Church Fathers who wrote on the subject believed that the creation period was no longer than 6 x 24hr days and that we must believe any interpretation of scripture that the Fathers taught unanimously[Council of Trent and Vatican 1] - btw neither the kolbe centre at www.kolbecenter.org or www.scripturecatholic.com are my final source of appeal or reference but my source for providing sources that I at 81 and now just barely able to type just cannot - twinc

Ooops, sorry, I switched around what you said; you’ll notice I deleted that post. But about the Church saying we did not evolve, what say you to this:

“It can therefore be said that, from the viewpoint of the doctrine of the faith, there are no difficulties in explaining the origin of man in regard to the body, by means of the theory of evolution.”

you and some others may just be interested on the Irish take on the 6days -see it under the tricolour at www.daylightorigins.com - twinc

So, you’re saying that The Catechism of the Catholic Church is wrong. Sorry, that’s not acceptable to this Catholic.

to update you on your link - go to the bottom of the article and insert that Fr.Coyne has been requested to step down - btw you have a strange notion that creationists are slanderers yet not a word about the pseudo/phoney evolutionists and their fakes, frauds, cons, hoaxes etc - btw Vatican 1 was binding before Vatican 2 and states as a binding Canon 1 clause 5 that to accept or teach evolution is forbidden and anathema to and for Catholics - watch for my post re what real Evolutionists have to say about phony/pseudo Catholic evolutionists - twinc
The defenestration of Pius XII continues.

Humani Generis, Para. 36:

For these reasons the Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experienced in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter - for the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God.
