I said I have the vice. Now if I decide to march in the Shrew Pride Parade, then you can say I have self-identified as a shrew! 🧹

If I claim that I am a “homocidarian” because I once thought of harming or killing someone, must I now belong to the group of “homicidarians” who are capable of harming and killing? Is that part of my identity?
If you are Muslim, does that make you a member of ISIS?
If you are white, does that make you American?
If your first language is Spanish, does that make you an illegal immigrant?
If you go to Church on a Sunday, does that make you Catholic?
If you believe Jesus existed, does that make you Christian?

Homosexuality traverses gender, physical ability, colour, religion, age and nationality. Yet, there are those who want to package all homosexuals into a box that they would toss on a fire. Homosexuals are an easy 2% of the population to target.

Between 1692 and 1693, 200 were accused of witchcraft and 20 executed in Massachusetts for the crime by the Church. Would the Church repeat such a course of action now? Why not? Maybe because witchcraft and witches actually don’t present a problem to modern society? Because witches present no risk to life?

Do homosexuals present a risk to the general population? Can homosexuals, like witches, cast a hex? Of course not. The target of witches has been removed, so they choose a new target. After witches came Africans, slavery and the KKK with its burning crosses. That has died a death. Now it is homosexuals. After homosexuals, what next? People with ginger hair? After all, they have freckles, blemishes.
Lev 21.17
Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.

After that, anyone with acne?

Rather than “Love Thy Neighbour”, it is still a case of “Love Thy Neighbour as long as they are like you”. That will never change.

Jesus should have said, " Love Thy Stranger"

Same sex attraction isn’t a choice, its a cross, it’s the thorn in my side

People, but except for a minority of people who are truly bisexual, the people they’re attracted to tend to be individuals exclusively (or at least predominantly) of one gender or another. It’s not random.

Sex is more than a sin for many- even for heterosexual people, their whole worth is placed in getting a partner or accumulating notches on a bedpost.

As such, it can be an identity issue, for both hetero and homosexuals alike.

if you go to the avemariaradio.net website, into the archive, do an advanced search on Kresta in the afternoon and use Popcak (“pop chack”) as a keyword or guest speaker…

Within the last two weeks Dr Popcak had a short conversation with Al Kresta and explained what characterizes homosexuality. A heterosexual man grows up and quickly learns his role in society, but with same sex attraction, a homosexual does not have role models or otherwise a path to social maturation. Popcak explains it succinctly. You can download it and listen to it at your leisure.

Yes, same sex attraction is real. “Courage” is the organization for same sex attracted men to learn how to live with same sex attraction without sinning.

Elsewhere, I read ( Crisis Magazine–?) that there is no scientific or legal definition of gay. There is only a description of MSM, men having sex with men.

I doubt that people who identify themselves as part of the gay culture consider their gayness a sin. So in their minds, they are not identifying with their sin.

I believe there is a gay culture but not all gay people identify themselves as part of the culture. Others (gay or straight), however, may regard them as part of the culture just due to the fact they are gay.

I may be wrong here but I don’t think anyone with SSA chooses it. It is a hard road and a no win situation. By that I mean that if are in a gay sexual relationship you are sinning according to Christianity and Islam. Not sure about Judaism or other faiths so don’t want to speak for that. If you are SSA and a Christian you can never get married to the person you want to if you want to live a life pleasing to God. I literally have thanked God before that I’m not gay for those reasons. No wonder they have pride marches - they are marginalised and looking for family and identity when they are turned away from their own backgrounds. Their cross is hard because they have to see the words ‘disordered’ when they look to the catechism and that is a hard hard word when you apply to yourself. We are all sinners but if that was me I would feel especially singled out if something I could not change was described as disordered. I would feel beaten before I even started to reach for God. In essence I am trying to say I think that unless you experience SSA or have been personally involved with someone in your life who does, best thing if you don’t know otherwise is just to reach and love those people strongly. Don’t concern yourself with how they identify and how they try to find community , if people opened up their hearts communities and churches to gay people there wouldn’t need to be pride marches

The question is - when did homosexuality become an identity instead of a series of discrete actions? I
The word “homosexual” dates from the middle of the 19th Century. Before that, you had “sodomy” and “pederasty”, but no concept that people had a homosexual identity.

This is why you don’t see the word “homosexual” in the Douay Bible or the KJV or other old school bibles. The word didn’t exist them

The current crisis in the Catholic Church is just such an excellent opportunity for the Church to expound its teaching that homosexual activity is gravely sinful, when so much of the world is leaning towards approval of same sex unions.
