I got a tattoo about 7-9 years ago. Do not get one. I have been experiencing SUPERNATURAL phenomena. The precise tattoo I have is half of a zodiac sign on my left shoulder blade. (Scorpio). I am in the process of getting it removed. WACKY WACKY stuff has been happening to me.Is it a sin to get a tattoo if it is of a repectful nature?:whacky:
Just because you have, doesnāt make you the case for everybody.I got a tattoo about 7-9 years ago. Do not get one. I have been experiencing SUPERNATURAL phenomena. I never have gotten stung or bitten by anything in the water. I know you are trying to make a comparison/analogy/talk in parables as Jesus used to, but I donāt understand. I want to shed light on the subject because my fellow Catholics want to know about the subject of tattoos.Just because you have, doesnāt make you the case for everybody.
In the same manner just because you got stung by a jellyfish, doesnāt mean you should tell everyone that swimming is bad.![]()
Itās like a tattoo that I got in a past life, and it had to remain there in this one as well. I felt like a puppet on a string going into the store to get it.Just because you have, doesnāt make you the case for everybody.

Iām sorry to hear about your negative experience with a tattoo. Just curiousā¦Do you believe that if you had tattooed a Christian symbol on your shoulder that you would be having positive supernatural experiences today?I got a tattoo about 7-9 years ago. Do not get one. I have been experiencing SUPERNATURAL phenomena. The precise tattoo I have is half of a zodiac sign on my left shoulder blade. (Scorpio). I am in the process of getting it removed. WACKY WACKY stuff has been happening to me.
I have 3 tattoos two of which are labarums and I have no problems and do not regret them in the least. Just because you have had negative experiences doesnāt mean other people will.I got a tattoo about 7-9 years ago. Do not get one. I have been experiencing SUPERNATURAL phenomena. I think you might have some confusion about things like supernatural influences and āpast livesā. You might want to research Catholic beliefs on those.Itās like a tattoo that I got in a past life, and it had to remain there in this one as well. I felt like a puppet on a string going into the store to get it.
I think it needs to be said here that tatooing was an intrgral part of every primitive society and does have a long association with occultism and general savegry, āā¦as in the days of Noahā Matthew: 24:37] and that means that tatooing can be seen as a sigh of the time that the end times are coming. [Matthew: 24:33-34]I think you might have some confusion about things like supernatural influences and āpast livesā. You might want to research Catholic beliefs on those.
as to the tattoosā¦I have 3. the newest one is a Sacred Heart of Jesus that covers an old way of life tattoo. No problems, no issues, and I love them. my suggestions to ppl contemplating tattoos are (1) consider placement carefully, you might want to or have to cover them up; (2) consider long and hard, put some effort into the design so that it is unique and original; (3) do not get anyoneās name tattooed on your body; and, finally, (4) if you arenāt a bounty hunter or a professional tattoo artist, donāt get a tattoo on your neck!
Read my analogy again nice and slow. Itāll come to ya.I never have gotten stung or bitten by anything in the water. I know you are trying to make a comparison/analogy/talk in parables as Jesus used to, but I donāt understand.
Catholics donāt believe in reincarnation. Better check your catechism.Itās like a tattoo that I got in a past life, and it had to remain there in this one as well. I felt like a puppet on a string going into the store to get it.
Speak for yourself. I walk into my sisterās room and sheās done quite a number with just a marker and some cheap paint. The place definitely is quite an expression of herself.I donāt want any grafitti on my house⦠so why would I want any on my bodyā¦???
Right and eating pork was considered unclean because they thought pigs were dirty.I think it needs to be said here that tatooing was an intrgral part of every primitive society and does have a long association with occultism and general savegry, āā¦as in the days of Noahā Matthew: 24:37] and that means that tatooing can be seen as a sigh of the time that the end times are coming. I donāt think itās a sin. It might even be an evangelization tool every time he has to explain the Latin words to someone. It will also serve as a nice reminder to those of us who know what the Latin words mean.My friend from church is planning on getting one, he aparently has been waiting and deciding since he was 16 (now 22). Iām not really for tattooās but this one is actually pretty cool i think⦠Its a cross with the Latin words Pater, Filius, Spiritus Sanctus and below that Uni, Sanctae, Catholicaeā¦Is that a sin?
Thatās not accurate. The tribe I would consider quintessentially āsavagesā, the Comancheāwho were basically Tolkienās Orcs except they didnāt eat peopleāhad no tattooing traditions. Indeed, none of the āprimitiveā societies Iām familiar with had tattooing, and both my mother and grandmother are amateur experts on the anthropology and archaeology of the southwestern United States.I think it needs to be said here that tatooing was an intrgral part of every primitive society and does have a long association with occultism and general savegry, āā¦as in the days of Noahā Matthew: 24:37] and that means that tatooing can be seen as a sigh of the time that the end times are coming. [Matthew: 24:33-34]
Well, their Eurocentric arrogance is also why your country has better laws than Thailand, but I know what you mean. In their defense, the Spanish didnāt consider Filipinos savages. The Spanish in the Philippines, like the French in Vietnam and (for the most part) the English in India (but not in Ireland), were not such bigots or idiots as not to understand that people who could write and work metal were not savages. As a descendant of these so-called āsavagesā, thank you for insulting my ancestors. People like you make me wish the Spanish just came by and dropped off their religion and keeping the rest of their Eurocentric arrogance from setting foot on my nationās shores.
Leaving to one side that Leviticus is not binding on Christiansāor do yāall keep kosher? So I guess this meansā¦ear piercing and plastic surgery and hair transplants and permanent eyeliner, etc, are all sins?
Actually, depending on the interpretationā¦the part about āprinting marksā could also mean wearing make-up is a sin, too, yes?
The sentence does not specifying permanency. I checked merriam-webster and the word āprintā means a mark made by pressure.
In fact, would that include bruising oneself?
I made this point earlier⦠if you hold to one part of Leviticus, why do not not hold to all of it? Are we to pick and choose verses to fit what we already believe? I say again the Roman Catholic Church has no stance on the subject of tattoos, so saying it is absolutely is wrong is a little ridiculous to me.It also says we shouldnāt wear cloth that has two different kinds of thread and not to plant different types of seed in the same field, that you canāt trim your beard, ect. I feel like people pick and choose verses from Leviticus especially to fit whatever their opinion already is. Not to mention the Catholic Church has no stance on the subject of tattoos.
You donāt want any grafitti on your house do youā¦?I have always wanted a tattoo but have always had moral concerns about it. I feel like if you do it for the right reasons it would be ok.
