An atheist presented this question I wasn’t sure how to answer.
If God is good, why did he actively participate in human history committing the very evils he rebukes? It seems God contradicts Himself. My friend used the example,
Leviticus 20:13
“If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.”
I’m not sure what translation she used. But I agree that there are many of these seemingly contradictory participations of God in history. She also used the example of the great flood.
It would make a world of difference if you could reveal the good God behind these seemingly hateful crimes to me.
My regards,
Derek
