I guess it all depends on how ones raises their kids. if these books cause your kids problems dont blame Rowling-blame yourself.

Also crass music and porn. Kids should know that it’s all fake.

I started reading the HP series about years ago or around 3rd-4th grade level and I never made the connection to HP being at all satanic. The level of fantasy in the books and movies is just too great for me to have made the connection to HP and real life.

Just a lil’ bit off topic, but it was the RPG’s that had gotten me into the occult originally, though I am thankful for the revelation as I wouldn’t be anywhere near as serious about God as I am now. Anyway it was the web-based RPG game “Runescape” that had gotten me into the occult originally. It started out searching for answers for, “Where does ‘magic’ come from? I mean people didn’t just one day create this figment of imagination.” I think it was Alchemy and Necromancy:( that got me really interested. Even after I learned magic(k) was condemned I still wanted to go through with it. I don’t remember why I turned to God or if there was a reason in particular but I am grateful.🤷 At any rate it was easy to get lost in that fiction as it’s like a projection into the past with magic(k)al abilities enabled. There are even fictional Gods in it (One evil, one made to look like good but isn’t always truthful, and [the most powerful] god of nature *.

Regardless, HP never made me even think about the occult. Even with all the magic in HP no interest has ever originated from it to me.

The thing that I don’t like about the HP series though, besides the wide-spread use of these ‘powers’ (while almost always putting down non-magical people), is their Godless world. On top of there being no God they talk about magical people being able to choose between “going over to the other side” or becoming a ghost when they die (w/o mention of any deity).*

Harry Potter is wonderful stuff. In fact, it is not about witchcraft, satanism etc. at all – it is clearly the secret life of a mistreated child living with some of the most hideous relatives the world has ever known.

What about that 107 year old vampire who attends high school and hangs around with teenaged girls, that they are all nuts about now? The undertext to this one is far more terrible than anything J.K. Rowling ever thought up.

Ya know, if folks think Harry POtter is evil then they should never watch another Disney movie again either. Those are filled with all kinds of magic and villans and evil. 👍

This thread was started way back in July by a person who has since been banned.

Don’t know who reactivated it, but you’re looking for the OP, he or she is longggggg gone.

The video in the article posted below claims that the Harry Potter series of books and movies is leading our children into things such as sorcery, curses, black magic, demon possession, witchcraft and satanism:

shatteredparadigm.blogspot.com/2008/07/harry-potter-series-of-books-movies.html

What is your opinion about the material the video presents? Should we let our kids read and watch Harry Potter?
Please I think the secular public school systems that push GOD out of everything including history have had more effect then HARRY POTTER. To Give a good example I grew up with shows like “Bewitched”, “I Dream of Gennie”, and “Dark Shadows”…none of which drove me anywhere near to wiccan beliefs.

Good. But what about the Vampire?
Good evenik! My name is 'Burbs, und I vill be the vampire, ah-ah-ah!😉

Once again, the OP is gone, banned.

I know this is an old thread and that Harry Potter has been discussed ad nauseam here, but I just read the last part, and as a person who would read every single one of those books in a single sitting, I find the last part disturbing and/or disappointing, and NOT because there is ‘magic’ involved, but because:
  1. Snape performs euthanasia on Dumbledore
  2. After Voldemort is defeated, there seems to be no more evil left in the world - how naive is that? Voldemort was just one, contemporary practitioner of black magic… everything dissolves into cute ‘tolerance’ of ‘diversity’ or whatever
  3. I’m 26. I don’t care about Harry’s kids going to school. I want to know what he’s doing. He’s not teaching at Hogwarts. Is he employed in the Ministry of Magic? Is he an Auror? Are there no Aurors any more because there is no more evil left to fight? I want to know what the grown-up HP is up to!
Rant over. 😊
