Is having homosexual acts illegal in a country correct or incorrect?

No. However homosexual behavior should not be accorded the same protected status as Race, creed , gender and country of national origin.

Why would anyone make sarin gas in their bedroom? There is nothing intrinsically wrong with sarin gas. I don’t think we need the state to prohibit the manufacturing of it. The use of it to harm others would of course be a crime. But why would one trust the state to oversee this when they are the ones who not only make such toxic things but use them to kill people?

But therein lies your dilemma. Define homosexual behavior? Only that which involves genitals? :rolleyes:I know many gay couples who are dating and not having sex. So can they still hold hands and kiss? Or should that also be not protected?

Why have laws concerning the possession, transport or handling of dangerous goods at all? Perhaps because they present great danger, and we can’t readily know anyone’s intentions?

That’s interesting. Have these persons taken the view that sexual activity is not appropriate in same sex relations?

Hmmm or maybe like any normal straight couple they are also waiting until marriage, as impossible as that may seem. Gay people are people too :rolleyes:

To simultaneously hold the views that:
1). The proper place of sex is in marriage only; And
2). Two men can get married

is not what I’d expect. The first is very traditional, very Christian, the second is not.

Believe it or not there are actually homosexual Catholics. That may sound impossible to some that don’t believe in gay marriage.

I am just saying that there are actually people who believe in both your points that sex is for marriage and that two men or women can be married happily.

A rapist can be happy raping women. An alcoholic can be happy drinking alcohol. Just because you can be happy doing something doesn’t mean it is good or right.

They may as well be Catholics if they were baptized in the Church, nobody is denying that. However, I do think you realize that what they’re doing goes against Church teaching.

👍 congrats on being brave and posting on a forum that is distinctly against LGBTQ individuals having equal protection under our system of law!. We need more people from every walk of Catholic and non-Catholic life to post about their lives so that we all are able to learn and be more respectful to those different than themselves, especially when discussing sexual orientation. Hopefully your contributions will continue!🙂

I disagree with the premise that this forum opposes equal protection under the law. That the State now issues marriage licenses to two men is not a protection, it reflects a decision to take a different view on the meaning of marriage.

The posts made in favour of legal sanctions against homosexual acts are not characteristic of this forum. They are minority views.
 
Yes I believe we can see more fully now the severe harm that these acts cause our society. Less than 100 years ago sodomy was illegal all over the world and universally understood to be both harmful and disordered, damaging to ones mental and physical health and damaging to society as a whole.

In such a short time these acts are now regarded as equal to the act that has the power to create a new human life.
