Is Hinduism the eldest of Islam and Christianity and budism?

There is no ‘trinity’ in Hinduism. This is something conjured up by western authors to try and make a similarity with Christianity’s Trinity. This is akin to saying that Allāt, al-'Uzzā and Manāt (one of Islam’s most perplexing contradictions) is Islam’s version of the ‘Trinity’.
Well, it depends upon how one defines “trinity”. If a “trinity” is a group of three Sacred Objects/Persons, then one may argue that Hinduism, as well as Buddhism and other traditions, do have trinities. That those trinities are different from the Christian form of trinity goes without saying.

The Hindu goddess Kali is actually a benevolent figure in Hinduism. She is not a reminiscent of Lilith. Her fearsome depictions are meant to ward off the evil dominions of Ravana (King of demons) and she thirsts for blood - not of the innocent, but of the demons and the unrighteous…
And Kali is the “fiercer” (the ultimate “demon-destroyer”) form of Durga, The Divine Mother.

I must investigate hinduism.
Just as I arived at The Catholic church because of its unbroken line back to peter.

Hinduims claims of being unbroken from even before then must be investigated.

It dose not matter that there are poor hindus…because there are poor Catholics. Coruption in hinduism dose not matter anymore
then coruption in The Catholic church.

What matters is the reality of the faith. Can it deliver what it promises. Is there power behind the rituals or is it powerless?

I have bounced around different Christian denominations…testing and searching for God…different denominations offer different things.

However I have never tested Islam
nor hinduism…nothing prevents me from doing so, however I am not sure where to get acurate information.
Exactly what do you think hinduism has an unbroken line to.

Let St. Thomas Aquinas defeat the myth of polytheism:

newadvent.org/summa/1011.htm

Especially look at articles 3 and 4.

No, it cannot deliver what it promises. There IS certainly great power in it’s rituals, but they are simply handles for demons to yank hindu adherents around with.

How do you intend to “test”, or “evaluate”, hinduisms “value” to you as a “path to God”?

The Church (Catholic) is not a denomination. It is THE Church (the one suitable religion of all humanity). The so-called “denominations” need to be “de - nominated”, or “named”, because they need to differentiate themselves from both THE Church and each other.

But then, you know that, don’t you? 🙂

Accurate information about what aspects of these religions?

:shamrock2:
Sorry dude, the Orthodox Church is The Church, the Catholic Church is just a denominational break off of the ONE TRUE church, The Orthodox Church

God is the ultimate truth is he not?
Find God and there is no need of a pointless discusion of a cast system…which exists in christianity anyway…AND THAT IS THE POINT.

What dose it matter if things are taught, but people are not impowerd to follow?
I have been present in RCIA when herasy was discused. What is the point of teachings people are famouse for not following?

Is there a faith that impowers its people to follow its teachings?
If not, then it did not hurt to look.

Ofcourse there are good members of all faiths that follow its teachings. But which teachings make its followers BENEFIT the most?
Is it not strange that an American football player can be just as happy as a member of a christian denomination?

Is there a faith that elevates its followers to look like they are following a God?
My friend, have you ever thought about investigating Pentecostalism through The Assemblies of God Denomination/Parternship? Pentecostals believe that God’s promises and power are for NOW and for here, for the constant building of his kingdom.

God does indeed give us great power to perform miracles as did the apostles and all the early Christians of the church.

Get Wisdom from God:

James 1:5-6 (New International Version)
5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

Power comes from Jesus’s promises:

We will do what Jesus did AND we can ask anything of him and he will do it for us, according to the Fathers will:

1 John 5:14-15 (New International Version)
14This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

John 14:11-16 (New International Version)
11Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. 12I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

John 15:7 (New International Version)
7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.

Matthew 10:5-8 (New International Version)
5These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: "Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. 7As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near.’ 8Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy,[a]drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.

John 16:23 (New International Version)
23In that day you will no longer ask me anything. I tell you the truth, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

Mark 11:24 (New International Version)
24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Matthew 21:18-22 (New International Version)
The Fig Tree Withers
18Early in the morning, as he was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. 19Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered.
20When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.
21Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Mark 16:20 (New International Version)
20Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

1 John 2:25-29 (New International Version)
26I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. 27As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.

Matthew 6:5-6 (New International Version)
Prayer
5"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Romans 8:26-27 (New International Version)
26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will

God gives us Mighty Weapons!!

2 Corinthians 10:4 (King James Version)
4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Luke 10:19 (New International Version)
19I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

Romans 12:2 (New International Version)
2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

God Listens to our problems:

Philippians 4:6 (New International Version)
6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

DO NOT PUT OUT THE SPIRITS FIRE! THERE IS POWER IN THE HOLY SPIRIT:

1 Thessalonians 5:16-21 (New International Version)
16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
19Do not put out the Spirit’s fire; 20do not treat prophecies with contempt. 21Test everything. Hold on to the good.

Fasting with God’s promises has POWER!:

Isaiah 58:6-8 (New International Version)
6 "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?

8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness [a] will go before you,
and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

God brings about justice in Christian’s lives, just ask him for his help!

Luke 18:1 (New International Version)
1Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 7And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly.

Proverbs 4:20-22 (New International Version)
20 My son, pay attention to what I say;
listen closely to my words.
21 Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them
and health to a man’s whole body.

Psalm 1:2-3 (New International Version)
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.

Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version)
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Hebrews 10:35 (New International Version)
35So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.

Romans 11:33 (New International Version)
Doxology
33Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and[a] knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments,
and his paths beyond tracing out!

Malachi 3:8-12 (New International Version)
8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me.
"But you ask, ‘How do we rob you?’
“In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit,” says the LORD Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the LORD Almighty.

In all of the above promises and power that is bestowed upon us as Christ followers, you must always remember and apply this to all your requests and all his promises:

James 4:2-3 (New International Version)
2You want something but don’t get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. 3When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

What do you guys think of Ram Seta? They call it Adam’s Bridge
Also someone who is hindu told me that Hanuman was probably not a monkey man as he is often described but instead a caveman or neanderthal.
The info you give is copied directly from a pro-Hindu website. And I doubt its authenticity, for one simple reason: Lack of evidence for claims. The videos themselves are from Hindus. The second video looks to be by an Indian news station, and given how India is facing these days, I really doubt the trustworthiness of its new stations.

Furthermore, the myth is still myth. If the bridge is really there, than who’s to say it’s not a natural bridge? Let’s let science deal with it.

I never realy considerd hinduism.
Only Christian denominations and Islam.

It seems Hinduism is older then I thought, and I see no reason to remain ignorant of it.

Dose hindu religion have any fruits to show for itself, such as resurections…miracle healings…etc…etc?
None that I’m aware of.

But according to tradition, Saint Thomas went to India and proved God is God and the Hindu gods are false when he threw water into the air and it turned into flowers. But this is only a tradition.

Tradition aside, there are innumerable miracles within Christianity - the most recent of which I am aware is a pro-abortionist who turned pro-life after he had a vision of Saint Thomas Aquinas. You can read about him here (English translation here)

Assuming the tradition is true, what it proves is that when he threw water into the air, it turned into flowers. No more and no less.

As to does India have miracles? Most definitely.

But dose Hinduism have miracles? And how dose it define “miracle”? And what, if any, miracles have been done?

The Indian subcontinent has always recognized what many might call “miracles”. The Buddha Gotama, speaking to a brahmin, commented on such miracles:
"Brahmin, there are these three miracles. Which three? The miracle of psychic power, the miracle of telepathy, & the miracle of instruction.
"And what is the miracle of psychic power? There is the case where a certain person wields manifold psychic powers. Having been one he becomes many; having been many he becomes one. He appears. He vanishes. He goes unimpeded through walls, ramparts, & mountains as if through space. He dives in and out of the earth as if it were water. He walks on water without sinking as if it were dry land. Sitting cross-legged he flies through the air like a winged bird. With his hand he touches and strokes even the sun & moon, so mighty & powerful. He exercises influence with his body even as far as the Brahma worlds. This is called the miracle of psychic power.
"And what is the miracle of telepathy? There is the case where a certain person reads another person’ thoughts…
"This, brahmin, is the miracle of telepathy.

"And what is the miracle of instruction? There is the case where a certain person gives instruction in this way: ‘Direct your thought in this way, don’t direct it in that. Attend to things in this way, don’t attend to them in that. Let go of this, enter and remain in that.’ This is called the miracle of instruction.

"And these are the three miracles.

“Now, brahmin, of these three miracles, which one appeals to you as the highest & most sublime?”
“Master Gotama, of these three miracles…the miracle where a certain person gives instruction in this way: ‘Direct your thought in this way, don’t direct it in that. Attend to things in this way, don’t attend to them in that. Let go of this, enter and remain in that’: this is the miracle that, of the three, appeals to me as the highest & most sublime.”

Sadhu Chellappa explains how hinduism originated from christianity! Evidence are given by the Sadhu and what other Hindu leaders don’t want you to know!

Wathc the Youtube series here and Listen, absorb and understand.

Sadhu Chellappa explains the meaning of the OLDEST Hindu Sacred text … the Rg Veda, and its Purusha Sukta Hymn.

It is a Hymn about the creation of the universe and about how God becomes a human and is sacrificed or sacrifices Himself on a stake/post for the salvation of everyone.

He clearly explains that the oldest Hindu scriptures are references to Christ and pre-figure His Passion, Resurection an plan of salvation.

There are many scholars that now understand and accept these facts.

What we can say almost certainly is that a number of traditions in Hinduism are somehow related to the traditions on Christianity.

Which came first is not important as BOTH refer to Jesus Christ as savior. The Hindu “god” Isa and Iswara and the Isa Upanishad are almost certain references to Jesus.

Many Hindus see Jesus as an Avatar.

It is interesting that Jesus’ name in Arabic (“Issa”) is similar to a Sanskrit term for deity (“Isha”).

Why not? LOL
Age of system is the primary evidence The Catholic Church has that it is the True Christian faith.
I’m not sure I’d put it that way. But anyway, the cases are different. Our faith rests on Jesus Christ as the decisive revelation of God in history, and on His promise to incorporate us into His body. That being the case, any Christian faith worthy of the name must be able to trace itself credibly to Jesus through the past 2000 years of history. Hence any “Reformational” Christianity has a huge credibility problem from the outset. (Note that I remain a Protestant of sorts in spite of this, which is a subject for another thread.)

Christianity does not claim to be the most ancient religious tradition in the world. That is not the basis of faith in Christianity in the first place, so the fact that Hinduism is older is no reason to become a Hindu.

A good case can be made that Hinduism is a natural development of the human religious impulse. While it claims divine inspiration of a sort, this is more of an insight into the nature of reality than the kind of decisive, sovereign divine intervention that the Abrahamic religious claim when they speak of revelation.

Remember that “religion” is really an equivocal term. There aren’t a lot of things called “religions,” all basically the same and making the same claims. Christianity rests on completely different grounds from Hinduism. If God has ever decisively revealed Himself to humans in a universally relevant way, then basically there are two games in town: Christianity and Islam (of course there are some other contenders, and we can talk about them if you want, but it seems to me that these are clearly the two main ones). Hinduism and Buddhism are different things altogether. If God has not revealed Himself to humans in this decisive way, then something like Hinduism or Buddhism is likely to be true, although the cultural specificity of Hinduism has to be taken into account in any kind of Western appropriation.

So you can’t just compare the ages of different “religions.” You have to ask what kind of religion you think likely to be true in the first place.

I would recommend the work of Bede Griffiths (especially The Cosmic Revelation: The Hindu Way to God) for a consideration of the relationship between Catholicism and Hinduism, though there are a number of Catholics who have written about this. I should warn you that many folks here think of Bede Griffiths as one of those evil liberal heretics!

Most Hindus would agree with everything Aquinas says there. They are not polytheists of the kind Aquinas is refuting. They believe in one eternal, indivisible divine reality. In fact, Aquinas’s doctrine of analogy could be easily used by Hindus to explain why they have many “deities.”

Sri Ramakrishna and Vivekananda would, of course, disagree with you here.🙂
