Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s

Ok now that I have your attention.

Illegal by definition means prohibited by law

So whether your speeding, robbing a bank, stealing, or in the states illegally its an illegal act. There is punishment for breaking the laws as there should be.

Under the Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony, punishable by up to two years in prison. Immigrants who are deported and attempt to re-enter can be imprisoned for 10 years. Visa violators can be sentenced to six-year terms. Mexicans who help illegal immigrants are considered criminals. “Washington Post”

So would this be a sin?

In some countries, it was (and may still be) prohibited by law to practice the Catholic faith. So would practicing your faith be a sin? No.

Laws and sins are two entirely different things, to say something is a sin just because it is against the law is far too simplistic.

Concerning illegal immigrants, I don’t think it is a sin whatsoever, as long as their purpose is to build a better life for themselves and their family. I’d do the same if I was in their shoes.

I would apply for the proper documentation and follow the laws of immigration like my wife and grand parents did to get here. Who wants to live life always looking over their shoulder? Then to have your children in a dangerous situtaion because of you poor decision making? Thats just common sense.Any given minute you could be arrested and deported why would you put your family through that?

Most of them are not escaping Mexico because of cruel dictatorship Survey shows either they are trying to escape from the law for a crime they commited or most popular trying to earn an extra buck or two But you cant reap the freedoms and oppertunity of this great nation by being hear illegaly! Most of them dont even pay tax.

Who are we to judge?

Well in this two part post. as far as the is immigration a sin? question may be a grey area
to state this not actually to single any spacific person its just a question. Like is homosexuality a sin or is stealing diapers and food for your child a sin? thin line as judgement agreed.

Second part as an American Citizen its an important subject actually to both sides. and at this angel you can be judgemental This land is my land, this land is your land we have a right to fight for it.

Thou shalt not steal

Illegals steal resources that could go to legal immigrants…and citizens.

And stealing is a sin

Please see page 541, paragraph 2241 - second part.
Catechism of the Catholic Church, Second Edition frist printed in US in March 2000.

Quote:
“Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants’ duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens.”

The Catholic Church does not advocate chaos.
Don’t let your Church be hijacked. Everyone must read the Catechism.

It is just as sinful as any other form of trespassing.

Do you think it could be hypocritical to talk about illegal immigrants ‘stealing’ in terms of Mexicans and the USA, especially as the very foundation of the USA could be argued to be based upon theft from the Native Americans?

Osiyo:) Mitakuye oyasin 🙂

Then you propose to be un-hypocritical …we should allow illegal immigrants of any foreign nation, to present day - steal…because Spaniards and English and French did so before???

Hypocritical, would be to try to explain away, to me - how it isn’t stealing resources now.😃

Yes, I’m Native American - First People:)

Lets see illegal immigration is a threat to national security,The economy, and our nations well being. and uh ITS AGAINST THE LAW.

I dont think that the argument of who the land used to belong to creates an argument or justifies allowing access to law breaking aliens would be a good argument.

SO we should just allow illegal immigrants to come in because this used to be their ancesters land. No back ground checks you dont know if this person is a killer, rapest, child meloster, theif or a saint.

You know scary enough your argument here is shared by thousands.

Yep I can see it comming.

Welcome to Costco I love you

If you read my post carefully, it was a question, and not an opinion, just as this is:

Should ‘Love thy neighbour’ be qualified by an Orwellian ‘All neighbours are equal, but some neighbours are more equal than others’?

Love the sinner - hate the sin

My love doesn’t diminish the sin…If my neighbor loved me would he sin against me?

Not quite sure what that means but Ill answer it this way.

We are called to love each other at the risk of sounding cliche love the person not the sin.

You cant treat criminals the same as law abiding citizens otherwise our country would be in chaos.

No country on earth that I am aware of goes by squatters rights They all have laws on visitaion and citizenship.

Immigration laws are to keep us safe You saw what happend 9/11 What if we had tougher immigration laws It may not have happend.

If we were stricter like perhaps like Israell heavy metal locked doors to the cockpit ,kept a closer eye on the people here visiting and racial profiling Im all for it.

If the police get a call about a bank being robbed witnesses say it was a white man in a grey chevy truck and at the same time another white man in his grey chevy truck comming back from the same area from buying groceries for his family is seen by the police do they not have a right to pull him over and check it out? or is that not considerd to be racial profiling because he happens to be white?

Insanity to think otherwise I worry about this country

So, who did the “Indigenous People” steal the land from? (And, from what I learned in American History back in my University days, the “Indigenous People” were vagrants, and they didn’t claim to “own” the lands on which they lived, hunted and farmed.
I worry about this country

Can you document any of this, does it bother you if true is absent? Did you know all the 9/11 terrorists enter the US LEGALLY, did you know they were Saudi’s? Did you know economists are divided on whether immigration is positive or negative in affect?

What makes you think a stranger to you is a " *killer, rapest, child meloster, theif *" ? Is that what the constitutions says, check people assuming they are a *killer, rapest, child meloster, theif *?

You know this all sounds like race baiting lets see what future posts hold
