This is a cartoon from the Irish independent newspaper. Not only is it anti-Catholic but so disrespectful. Laughing in the face of Catholicism after Fridays result.

Let’s rejoice that Our Lord trusts us to carry a slightly heavier portion of His Cross this week than before the vote.

Thank you for loving us this way, God, Our Loving Father.

But how interesting that they attack the rosary… it’s almost like they’re acknowledging the fact that prayer can hold back evil, in a very back-handed way.

Ireland’s decline is so tragic. 😦

To be fair, the Church in Ireland shot herself in the foot due to sex abuse and coverups, but it’s still tragic to think about.

Yes, it certainly is tragic. I was pondering earlier while in conversation with someone who was pro-choice, that I had much more ‘leverage’ when I was pro life and atheist, or even when I was pro life and Protestant, than I do now I am Catholic, sadly.
It’s like being pro life when you are Catholic is just another controlled delusion, like being part of a church that condones and breeds abuse etc. and so you are much more readily dismissed as a fanatic. It’s both incredibly frustrating, as I know for sure that Catholic teaching is by far the most coherent, well thought through and compassionate belief on the planet, and heartening, because it keeps me very humble and focused on Christ because the church is so wounded, how could I boast?

Is that supposed to be a reference to the “rosaries on ovaries” chant? Or something else…?

Our Lady will be very happy to learn that Her Rosary prevented murder in the womb.

I’m glad I didn’t see that “cartoon.”
The Irish Independent would have heard from me.

I seem to spend a lot of my time texting a particular radio station which often spouts out liberal remarks. I’m sure they love to hear from me 🙃 But they have read out some of my comments, which surprises me.

Our voices should not be silent.

Dunno about hate for the Church over there. But there is deep anger over how the Irish Church conducted itself around the sex abuse cases, and that is not going away anytime soon.

There is considerably more because people were already walking away long before the child abuse cases went public. I have a related anecdote from a couple of uncles who toured Ireland around 1985, iirc. They finished their trip in Dublin at a B&B run by two elderly ladies who were sisters. These ladies gave my uncles chapter and verse on all the Church scandals of that time which was quite shocking to my uncles. None of which were being reported on, that was all suppressed on orders from the bishops, but everyone knew about them. I won’t go into details but it was more than just child abuse. The gist of it was these ladies thought it was all going to come out someday and the Church would pay a very high price for all that clerical misconduct and coverup.

I pray that the Irish citizens have the opportunity to let the light of the Holy Spirit into their hearts once more, and that the Church does whatever it takes to purge itself of the sinning priests and reforms its vocations to do a better job of weeding out the bad apples.

You know, I can manage to be happy about something, but find that that happiness is diminished when thoughts of the trauma and abuse by those in the Church come to mind. We are always reminded they are her priests. If I were Mary, I think I would be more than a little sad.

Ireland’s decline is the world’s decline. Let’s not pretend it didn’t happen in our backyard.

But you see, that’s not fair. Approving the killing of unborn babies does not become “somewhat understandable” because a few clergy in the RCC have allegedly been guilty of sexual misconduct. There is simply no relationship possible between these two matters, and it’s horrible to think that there could be.

You should not be sad about that reaction. It shows that you have found the fullness of truth.

Spiritual death is infinitly worse than physical death.
Even if we were able to abolish abortion, if we did not also help others to get to heaven our victory would be temporary and hollow.

In becoming Catholic, you witness with your life to the message of Christ. This witness will undoubtedly inspire others to follow Him. You will face much more opposition now that you are pro-life and Catholic. Don’t be discouraged…It is a great sign that you are now being dismissed.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted in the cause of uprightness: the kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

11 'Blessed are you when people abuse you and persecute you and speak all kinds of calumny against you falsely on my account.

12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven; this is how they persecuted the prophets before you.
