Is Islam a threat to Christianity around the globe?

It is not correct to assume that Islam was completed with Muhammad. That would be like the Jews and Christians thinking religion ended with their Teachers, when both have prophecies about more to come.
For instance, what are the Two Witnesses in Revelation 11 who have power to change the rivers to blood (like Moses)?
God has always guided us. No change can you see in God’s method.

God has always guided us.
except we don’t have a shred of evidence supporting such a proposition, besides ancient desert scribblings, modern suicide bombers, flakes who equate mundane moments of pleasure and euphoria with manifestations of spiritual power, and a bunch of really great art in the Vatican (which is perhaps the only redeeming feature of religion).

Well at least we agree that “Dr.” Naik is an idiot. He has unfortunately been a favorite crutch of some now-banned Muslim posters here. It is good to see that some in the Islamic community see how damaging he and his followers are to the perception of their religion around the world. If he appeals to converts, then those converts need to have their heads examined.
Dr. Naik is a poor man’s Ahmed Deedat…which isn’t saying much. His weak arguments have been refuted by Christians and Hindus alike (since he claims the Hindu faith predicts Mohammad, which is just absurd to think, and I’m not even Hindu!). I think he appeals to converts because most of them have an ex-smoker’s syndrome and so like hearing their former faith (or more popular faiths) bashed or criticized. He also appeals to the kind of simple logic a lot of converts have for their faith - the same with Yusuf Estes and Khalid Yasin.

I thank Abzalamin kindly for the link. I actually remember hearing the “Is Osama bin Laden a terrorist? I don’t know” quote a long time ago, but had forgotten about it. It’s a bit like saying, “Was Ted Bundy a serial killer? I don’t know.”
Daud,

Are you David?
Ah yes, I had forgotten about him. The man you responded to every single thread with, “The Bahai say…”

Let’s review Daud’s post…a non-sequitor statement regarding the Bahai faith that could easily be responded to any thread and really has nothing to do with the OP…yup, it might be him. 🙂

Any Bahai who might be reading this: that really doesn’t help your case. If I went to a Bahai thread and started responding to everything with something about Christ that wasn’t related to the topic, I imagine I’d annoy a lot of people and prove counterproductive. Likewise.

Who was Daud? Was he banned? I don’t know too much about Bahai. I notice they accept Mohammed as a prophet and they have one of their own after Mohammed. Didn’t they read the part where Mohammed said he was the last prophet? Do they wage Jihad too?

Who was Daud? Was he banned?
There was a CAF member named David-something (I don’t remember the full username) who became active in a few threads, one of which was a Muslim thread I was in. He would never actually respond to anybody, nor really address the OP, he would just take a small statement and go on a tangent about Bahai and quote sections from the Bahai holy books. It was very annoying, as he would do it after every two posts or so. It was also fairly sad, because it was clear that he was not on the same wavelength of anyone, Muslim or Christian, in the thread. At some point I was so befuddled with his clueless nature that I wished I had been able to smile sweetly at him and say in a soft voice, “What color is the sky in your world?”

I don’t know if he was banned. He might have been. A lot of people were getting annoyed with him, and it was pretty clear he was spamming and proselytizing (the latter of which is against CAF rules).

Please. Let’s not get him re-started on that. :o

An article written by an Australian journalist, Greg Sheridan, on the banning of the burqa by the French government. He calls it “a boost for equality”.

He writes that -
OF all the countries of Europe, France has the best chance of coping successfully with large-scale Muslim immigration. That’s not to say it’s a very big chance, but it has some chance. This is because of France’s strong republican ideology. This enables it to confer benefits as well as responsibilities on citizens regardless of ethnicity. French republicanism demands something of the citizen and asserts certain fundamental values
Sheridan points out that to immigrqate into a society means there must be an acceptance of that society’s core values. Yet he gives evidence that there are Muslims who are not willing to do this. Therefore, he asserts, it is incumbent upon the society to impose certain conditions and obligations on those who immigrate.

Then, almost as a warning, Sheridan writes -
The French are moving cautiously, incrementally, and in my view belatedly, but with almost unique courage and intelligence, to try to repair the outcome of the nihilistic trends in Western intellectual life and their interplay with a mass immigration that Europeans did not choose and have never understood. Vive la France!
That nihilistic trend in western intellectual life is antithetical to the very society which spawned it. It should be seen for what it is; an anti-Christian, dogmatic authoritarian streak that has surfaced amongst some of the west’s so called elite.

I just read the article linked above, and I am left wanting sources, notes, proof of the claims. It seems a bit over the top.
I don’t know, but I don’t think Europeans planned to commit cultural suicide. I think it was a convergence of a lot of things like the mania for tolerance, diversity, liberalism, hedonism, secularisation, etc.

Is the rise of Islam in America and around the world going to be dangerous to the spread and livelihood of Catholicism. I’ve read that the ultimate goal of Islam is to rule the world and to convert every non-believer(infidel) to Islam and if they cannot be converted then murder is justified. This I’ve also read is derived from their “most holy texts” the Qur’an and the Hadith of Bukhari. If you ask a devout Muslim about such claims he is liable to say anything in order to placate the situation because derived from the same texts is that it is appropriate to deceive or lie to infidels for the spread of Islam.
I’m still very young in my Catholic faith but what I understand is that the epitome of being a Catholic is to be a saint(spiritual perfection) by loving the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, and soul; and to love our neighbors as ourselves achieved through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
From my minimal research on Islam it seems the epitome of being a Muslim is to spread the world dominance of the religion using whatever means possible. Murder, Deception, Theft, TERROR. If these inherent evils lie deep in the hearts of all devout Muslims hidden in secret.
Could Islam be a global threat to Christianity in the near future?

Indeed Islam already is a HUGE threat, and you are correct:…“the epitome of being a Muslim is to spread the world dominance of the religion using whatever means possible. Murder, Deception, Theft, TERROR.”

I have lived in Rotterdam for over a decade now, the Muslim population here outnumbers the Christian BY FAR! Rotterdam is-not, ethnically speaking, a Dutch city. The last demographic survey I heard, (on the radio) was 51% immigrant, the remainder of course is Dutch; however bear in mind that many of those “Dutch” are Muslims from other nations who are born in Holland. Even the mayor is a Muslim of Moroccan descent.

Violence is the norm for Muslims here, I have been physically attacked three times by Muslims just for being an American in the wrong neighborhood; in one case I was attacked by a group of young Muslims while in the hospital recovering from an operation. Attacks by Muslims against Christians, as-well-as the many non-Christian Dutch, is quite common. Dutch women and girls are treated like trash by Muslims.

You are also correct to say that; “it is appropriate to deceive or lie to infidels for the spread of Islam”.

Further, Dutch MP Geert Wilders is actually on trial on charges of “Inciting hatred and discrimination against Muslims” Freedom of speech is dead unless you are Muslim here in Holland; Theo Van Gogh, among others, paid with his life for attempting to use his right to freedom of speech

I could go on, but there are just too many examples of Islamic intolerance in Holland to list here. This is-not malicious gossip, it is the truth of experience.

You didn’t read it very carefully, nor all the way to the end where there were references.

That’s rather rude, my friend. No, I DID read the entire thing including the references. Footnote 1 and 4 refer to history of Medieval Islam or “the glory that was Islam”-- not recent history. That left 2 notes-- in French. She makes huge sweeping claims, which may be correct, but I would like to have links to go somewhere to read more. I have tried to research this topic online, and there is not much available. Don’t take it personally, Sedonaman, but I would like more. Maybe it’s in her book, but I don’t know that.
