Both are wrong on one issue or another.
Which Republican issue is on par with the Dem’s crusade to murder innocent children in their mother’s womb?
And don’t say border security, 'cause it’s not even in the same ballpark as abortion. And if you do think it’s comparable then we can speak about the Dem’s promotion and support of human trafficking and their utter disregard for US law and sovereignty.
So again, which Republican issue is on par with the Dem’s crusade to murder innocent children in their mother’s womb?
None, but not everyone votes for Democrats because of their stance on abortion.

This is are rather petty tit for tat response to the other thread. The question itself is too partisan to be worth an answer. God is not a Republican. He is not a Democrat. He is not a Red Sox fan, or a Yankee fan. God does not prefer Ford over Chevy.

We need to stop trying to make God in our image and call Him as a witness to our own human squabbles.

I think you need to ask, “What will be the outcome of my vote? Will the candidate of my choice violate my values and beliefs?”

If both candidates are pro-life, I make my choice based on their positions on other issues. But if one candidate is pro-life and the other is pro-abortion, then I have to go with the pro-life candidate."

Canon law says “formal participation” in abortion results in ex communication, latae sententia – that it is, by the act itself you excommunicate yourself,

I consider voting a formal act.

Yes, if one votes for Trump or anyone who accepts money from the NRA.🤣

noun
a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.

“the stereotype of the woman as the carer”

synonyms: standard/conventional image, received idea, cliché, hackneyed idea,

The group that claims to be single issue voters; those who are against abortion have become smaller and smaller. This is apparent among your contemporary Republicans:

In the 2016 Republican primaries, so little attention was given to the subject of abortion during the debates. As a matter of fact, most of the televised debates completed without a single mention of the subject. Why didn’t the constituency demand more discussion?

Foolishly, many stated republicans believe if you just vote for a candidate long enough, someone will gain office and turn things around by assigning the right judges to the Supreme Court system? We have been waiting forty six years and counting. Also remember that in the decision within the landmark case of Roe v Wade; only one republican cast a vote in opposition while three others republicans voted in support.

I think if we are pointing sin in any direction, it should be directed at those that feel voting for someone simply because of party affiliation has fulfilled their moral obligation. Following the current strategy will only lose more ground to a generation that do not carry the same concerns. I blame the generations that came prior for not instilling the values handed to them onto the younger crowd.

You’re talking about the guideline?

I don’t like them but they are one of two major choices.

Voted for R? Not even once

Is it a grave sin to vote for R? No

What’s this obsession with the severity of sin?

It’s just a democracy & it won’t be perfect at all times.

As I had mentioned in my post, back then a higher percentage of Republicans were pro-choice compared to Democrats. Some of the most liberal judges on the Supreme Court during that era were Republicans! Think in terms of Nelson Rockefeller Republicans. The very liberal Warren Supreme Court was led by Chief Justice Earl Warren, a lifelong Republican.

If you agree with this Franciscan friar and professor of theology, that climate change is the most important life issue today:

And if you agree that our behavior and choices, like the use of fossil fuels, certain industrial and agricultural practices and poor waste management, are contributing factors in speeding up overall global warming, then an argument could be made that voting for the current Republican administration, which favors the fossil fuel industry with deregulation and overturning laws and practices which promote environmental protection, is the more sinful choice.

He is AGAINST immigration. He is going to build a wall to STOP immigration. He deports people back to their countrys. Fr get your facts straight.
You know that is not true and is a misleading statement. Trump is all for legal immigration. He does want to reduce the huge flow of illegal immigration because it is the law. Congress needs to first change the law if they want open borders. We know that won’t happen because it is not the will of the people. By ignoring the law we are hurting our country.
Personally, I’m all for increased immigration. But I also want it to be legal. You don’t have to look very far back to see Democrats also supporting the rule of law in fighting illegal immigration, but that has changed only since Trump took office. So I have to wonder what their real motivation is.

The words of Jesus:
John 13:34 “Love one another as I have loved you.”

I pray that God will grant each and every one of us here a heart filled with joy, peace, understanding, compassion, patience, kindness, forgiving, and, above all . . . Love . . . as Jesus said.

“The Wall” won’t be finished due to the years of lawsuits pending…

Logical thinking is useless in voting since many people are too emotional about it.
