Is it a sin if my kids miss Mass

The Rockies are awesome. Colorado was probably my favorite part of the trip. At least it is the part I remember best. The desert in New Mexico and Arizona were really cool as well. It is like being on another planet.

Iowa and South Dakota I would probably skip. I don’t do Long and Flat very well. Boring. 😣🤐

You can’t skip them, though, really - it’s either that or take I-40 or I-10 all the way across and then go all the way up I-5, which takes even longer to get here and puts you crossing more mountains.

The military reimburses us for nine days and 3200 miles, so he has to pick carefully.

Either way - an education. 😆😆

She’s absolutely not lying. The problem is she won’t attend a closer Church. Either way, the ball is in her court :man_shrugging:t2:

She’s not coming back, and she’ll blame me.

I’ll offer it up and pray for her because I can’t let it bother me. I did nothing wrong.

I thought about that and even composed a few PMs. And then I thought if a completely innocent post supporting her garnered that kind of reaction from miscomprehension, a PM would only be more misinterpreted and would end up getting me banned without even realizing how.

Best to let sleeping dogs lie, I’m afraid.

If she blamed you, she probably blamed me as well.

If she is like most people, she may take a peek later when curiosity sets in. The Holy Spirit works that way. At least I hope He will in this instance. Or maybe she will find another community that works better for her.

And it annoys me when people say “well I don’t see how that’s possible” - like with the lady from eastern NC who literally lives 30 miles from the nearest Church and 4 hours from the center of the diocese and people kept saying that didn’t make any sense. Uh, sure it does - welcome to rural America - and I’ve definitely seen houses in the middle of the UK countryside that are equally in the middle of nowhere.
I’m so spoiled. My Church is across the street from my subdivision.

I’m spoiled rotten. I live one mile from the Diocesan Cathedral. I’m surrounded by many good Churches ⛪😃 including two minor Basilicas

Hi
I am going on a catholic retreat this weekend
My husband is not Catholic so I take our children to Mass every Sunday. My question is this:
Should I leave the retreat early so I can get home and take my children to Mass , otherwise they won’t go or is it ok if they miss Mass and I stay on the retreat?
One of my children receives Communion. The other is too young.
There is Mass at the retreat
Thank you for any help.
I want to revisit the OP again. I think this is no big deal. Your children are dependents. There’ll be no guilt imputed on them if they cannot attend mass because of nobody to send them. Of course ideally they should but cannot because you are not home this time around.

Second, you are in a retreat, which is a good thing. Also which, you do not do all the times (I suppose). If you want to complete your retreat because you have started it, it would be a perfectly valid reason.

I used to go to retreats or helped to organize them for people, and I thought that it is really pointless not to complete the things which they have started. They might as well not participating in the first place if they are unable to finish it.

The children can miss the mass this Sunday. It is not that you purposely want them to miss the mass. They understand and I think God understands. More importantly as a parent, you have exercised your responsibility in bringing them up as Catholics. Children wil see what you do as things that they will do as well.

Spending your time away from home in a retreat reflects your devotion to your spirituality. That also can be a demonstration to your young children that there is a variety in living a Catholic life.

God bless you.

We have the Cathedral Basilica and The Basilica of St. Louis, King of France

Actually she accused me of saying something I didn’t, and responded to me incorrectly.
