I got my education from the Catholic Church. I’m not the only Catholic who thinks this way. If you don’t like it I suggest you get out there and educate more instead of shouting at people.

Really, if it was ever “proven” that Jesus had a married relationship, it would not change MY faith in him. I’m sorry to hear it might change the faith of others.

p.s…I do not “believe” the Da Vinci Code, it’s obviously a work of fiction. What I believe is that the idea of Christ being married doesn’t bother me.

Remember that Catholics and most other Christians believe that Christ is the Second Person of the Trinity. He has a human nature (as well as a divine nature) but he is a divine Person, not a human person.

A married Christ would mean that God had a wife, and possibly children. A god with a consort more resembles the old pagan religions than it does Christianity.

We give honor to Mary because she is the Mother of God (i.e. the person to whom she gave birth is the second person of the Trinity.) That doesn’t make her divine.

But if there were a Wife of God, surely she would be honored and mentioned throughout history. And what about the literal children and grandchildren of God?

It wouldn’t change your faith if you haven’t delved very much into the truth of Who Christ is; the truth of Who He is obviates any consideration of a possible marriage for those who have.

Falsehoods can NOT be proven.
Nothing can change my faith since MY faith is the truth and I bother to know what my faith teaches as we are compelled to do so.
Your post was very bad form coming from a Catholic and was ambiguous at best.
You can not just leave “the door open” to this speculation.
You have to say, people can say what they like and it wont shake my faith
but you cannot say if people prove my faith to be a lie, it wont shake my faith.
That is lunacy.

The idea of Christ being married to anyone but the Church is very problematic if you are at all going to attempt to understand the theological implications that arise from your apathy.

Not to mention the fact that Mary Queen of Heaven is no ones literal mother IN LAW.

I dont care how many “catholics” feel this way. There are a whole bunch of “catholics” that make up and reject Catholic teachings. Does that make the teachings WRONG? Or leave them open to popular opinion?

Do we need to go further than that and discuss theology or religion at this point?

Its been de-bunked.

Sure now after the book you can find all kinds of crazy sites that make the bogus claim that they existed. They did not. A figment of a wild imagination.
No solid proof. Contradictory evidence that can not be one way or the other taken seriously.
There are a lot of people that believe this you are correct. But who are they?
That is the question. I know a guy who thinks that God is a woman living on earth as a normal person. Going to work, having kids the whole nine yards.
He thinks God is in “hiding” amoung us to better understand us. He thinks Jesus was a person who got too big for his britches.
SO God the woman came here to take care of the whole “problem” of humans.
Now, There is no end to the lunacy people will believe.

Sorry for making a biggie out of this but I really felt it was important to do so.
