In PA if you fail the parallel parking you fail the test. At least that’s how it was when I got my license 4 years ago, so it couldn’t have changed that much since then.
I almost recommend practicing at the course, at least with parallel parking. I did perfectly by practicing there and passed on the first try. I think it would be wise to do so, unless of course, they lock the gate, but they usually leave it wide open. Going on a Sunday afternoon is best, as you wouldn’t want to miss liturgy…
