I would suggest abstinence during these periods. :o
No pun intended? 😉
No. Contraception is a moral evil and is never permissible.

You abstain.
The argument could be made that since this definitely not a fertile period (no pun intended), it’s not contraception. I think a better argument could be made that it is not unitive.

Can still get pregnant when you have you period. It’s just a whole lot less likely.

I hypothesize a different angle to this story… Maybe it’s the wife that wants it and the husband is trying to find a way to oblige. Hm?

Either way, no condom.

As for disease he might mean yeast infection - in that case treatment can’t start until the period is over anyway, lasts 1-7 days, so it could be a bit of a wait. But worst case with that is that if you catch it you gotta go through treatment too.

Either way, do see a doctor. It’s important to keep healthy.

So you can just BATHE in period blood? Yuck. I know the condom use is not permitted, but I don’t see anything insulting about not wanting to get blood all over yourself.
Well, no. No, I was not suggesting that anyone try to take a bath in menstrual blood. I was suggesting that – oh, never mind.

If you think that the implied attitude of wanting sex with a menstruating wife but ONLY with the “protection” of a condom is not insulting, consider how a husband would feel if his wife said she wanted to use a condom in order to protect herself from her husband’s “yucky” fluids. Sex with a man is always messy for a woman, you know, and it’s not the sort of mess that can be cleaned up just by laying down a towel and using a wash cloth afterwards. But most men don’t think of this.

However, perhaps the OP had some other, less obvious concern than protecting himself from yucky blood.

Why? What are her intellectual reasons, i mean philosophical, theological, religious, moral, cultural, social, psychological, scientifical,…etc. What are the fundamental reasons of her choice??? Do you know why??? Do you talk with her on this topic???
One could forge an argument that Jews are not permitted to engage in the marriage act during a woman’s period, nor 12 days afterwards. When you do the math it appears that Jews (orthodox) barely have a week during a months time for the marriage act. I’ve seen arguments forged that we should use “G_d” instead of “God” when speaking of Him, as is the practice of Orthodox Jews.

That’s not true actually. It’s not unusual at all to be fertile during your period. I know a few women who got pregnant this way.

I’ve always had a hard time understanding why men would want to use condoms or abstain instead of just getting over it. I would have a very hard, if not impossible time being with someone if they rejected me for a week every month because my normal bodily function was “gross”. That would hurt.

Me and my spouse are married in the Catholic Church. Her menstruations takes near 7 days to pass. Is it OK to use a condom during this situation? And how about when we know or suspect theres a desease present on our sexual organs or fluids and we didnt had time to see a doctor and we want to make love?
Why would you want to do this!?!?

People are saying they do this?!?! What the. . . .

Some guys just have issues. 🤷 I think it says something positive if a guy thinks its gross but nevertheless tries to work around himself somehow to keep his wife happy. I know my husband does it for me and I love him all the more for it.

OH MY!! How common is this? I am a husband and could never ever imagine having sex during this time and my wife feels the same way. WOW!!

My husband has olfactory problems with menstrual fluids. He understands perfectly well that menstrual fluid is normal and natural and that it’s not “dirty” or “nasty”, but this knowledge does little to assuage his dry heaves. And to be fair, he has the same reaction to most bodily fluids. He even struggles to clean out the cat box sometimes. 🙂

When we started having sex, I had to make a decision. I could have chosen to attempt to convince him to work through his body’s reactions to menstrual fluids, which he probably could have if I’d really pushed it. But I would have done so with the knowledge that I was having sex with a less-than-enthusiastic partner. And where’s the fun in that? Or, I could have accepted it because I loved him. I chose to accept it with the knowledge that he wasn’t rejecting me or my body (and what it produces), but with the understanding that I didn’t want him to feel obligated to do something he finds truly unpleasant.

Trust me, we more than make up for what we miss four or five days a month. 🙂

I have no issue having sex with my wife during her period. Plus our intimacy makes her feel better and loved during that time when she’s feeling kinda icky.

All of which is perfectly normal. Different strokes and all.

There is certainly nothing wrong with wanting to abstain from sex during menstruation. There is something wrong with treating one’s wife as “yucky” because of her normal functions. Not wanting to get bloody because blood is uncomfortably sticky, smells unpleasant, and stains porous material is entirely reasonable and, I think, different from the “Yuck!” response, which is childish and disrespectful. I have known men who were sickened at the very thought of the menstrual cycle, and I would consider them too immature to be married.

My understanding of Jewish abstention from sex during and immediately after the wife’s menstrual period is that it has to do with their respect for blood, i.e., the blood is the life, it is holy and belongs to God. To me this seems a wholesome attitude.

That’s some pickle. Although I am sure it’s not as rare as one may think.

I would really plan tiresome activities during those days, that way you’ll be to tired and just less inclined.

Also you won’t die if you don’t take care of your wife for seven days.

For some reason I feel it un genuine to want to be in that predicament with your wife, yeah no couples are love making gurus out of the pew, but there’s honestly a decent amount that can go wrong during a time like that. Not that I am advocating for you to not be near your wife, but I think there are genius ways you can come up with being romantic and not riding the crimson wave.
When my wife had her hysterectomy we couldnt have sex for six weeks. I thought I was going to die…

I said many Hail Marys and Our Fathers thats what kept me in the arms of salvation.

See through the help of the Heavens you have prevailed.

You know I don’t pretend to be an expert on this lol, but I feel I should prepare myself which is why I look into things like this.
