I did ot say the Vatican said they had a problem with them, did I? So you can stop accusing me of something that didn’t happen.

The Vatican has been rare to speak out on these matters and seeks to keep unification with those who are heading in the wrong direction. I hardly doubt they will speak out on the matter. That said, Msgr. Calkins and Msgr. Perl have constantly warned of going too far in their talks.

TAN and Latin Mass magazine have had some questionable publications. They have both started to imbibe the spirit of radical traditionalism and I think it’s quite sad since I believe both could have done a lot of good.

Once again, I encouraged people to find out why Mr. Davies has been questioned by so many orthodox Catholics.
It seems you want to assign some type of ill repute to this organization? If I am wrong please correct me. I visited their site and it is 100% orthodox.

Also, Tan has some wonderful books. Are you claiming they are heterodox?
We stress that Una Voce does not support or countenance any schismatic or heretical movements. Our mission is to support only the celebration of the Tridentine/Gregorian Rite Mass within the Church, in union with the Holy See and the bishops united with the Supreme Pontiff of the Church as permitted through the 1988 indult, Ecclesia Dei adflicta.unavoce.org/about.htm

TAN does have some wonderful books and then they have books like “The Great Sacrilege”. Just because they have some good doesn’t make it that they don’t have bad.

No, I’m no defender of Una Voce. I do think that have slid the wrong way a little. I’m hoping that they will not slide further. Here’s a link that give some evidence to my belief:

Now, if you’ll notice my original post, I said that the OP should not worry about their attendance at a Mass where the presider is an Una Voce supporter. What more do you want? We’re not going to agree on this.

BTW, how can something be 100% orthodox when it links to sites that are not?

The site review in question seems to be in conflict with what I read on the Una site. They specifically state their fully support the Pauline mass and papal authority.

The same way the site we are on now allows links to less than Catholic sites. In these fora I have read links that definitely do not support magisterial norms. That does not imply CA endorses them.

Interesting, what sites are those? Are you talking about sites that we post here on the forums or the ones CA links to on their homepage? Can you give examples?

And thus lies the problem. If you think that Catholic Culture is in error, e-mail them about it. It asks you to on the bottom of the page to do so. That said, no matter what Una Voce says, I’d have to agree with Catholic Culture.

I am talking about all the sites in people’s posts. That they may be read is no endorsement.

In those cases where criticism of reformable policies or pastoral decisions of the Church is warranted, we offer opinions not as a means of judging the Church or her leaders, but only as permitted to the faithful in accordance with Canon 212 paragraph 3 of the Code of Canon Law.

Also, many diocesian newspapers run columns that have many heterodox elements. Should I conclude those dioceses are heterodox?

To some extent, those Dioceses may indeed be heterodox.

But the difference is, we can’t help living in a Diocese. We can help supporting Una Voce.

But the Una Voce folks are not heterodox in the least. This puzzles me. The site states they firmly support the Church and all Her teachings including everything in VII. What is the problem?

From post #9:
Even though he suffered from the Church in many ways in his time, he always truly remained a man of the Church. He knew that the Lord founded His Church on the rock of St Peter and that the Faith can find its fullness and maturity only in union with the successor of St Peter. Therefore we can be confident that the Lord opened wide for him the gates of heaven. We commend his soul to the Lord’s mercy."
Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger
(Translated from the original German)

I will stick with the Pope on this one as does Una Voce.

Fix, you are reaaaaaaaalllllllllllyyyyyyy stretching now. Are you really equating things posted on the CA forums by people with no relation to CA, who are in no way trying to represent CA and Una Voce’s Books and Resources and Links list?!!! :rotfl:

Quite I often I’d have to give a resounding yes. Of course, this could only be concluded on a case by case basis.

What you say and what you link to and print are 2 different things. Cardinal Mahoney says the same things and I’m betting you don’t have warm fuzzies about him!

The topic is:
Is it okay to attend a Mass that has connections with Una Voce?
My response is: “connections” with Una Voce are irrelevant; the ONLY “connection” that has any relevance is - whether the Mass is celebrated in accordance with the principle of Unity with the Pope through the Local Ordinary!

If that “connection” is intact - then, it IS Okay to attend that Mass. But, it must be a **real **connection, and not a schitzophrenic illusion such as is sprouted by the SSPX (who, on one hand, claim to be in union with the pope, but, on the other hand, tell him to “get stuffed” on such matters with which they disagree!), or by so-called “Independent” priests who may or may not be validly ordained, but who may possess the same insane position of the SSPX OR simply disregard him and the entire Magisterium!

Personally, I knew and corresponded with Dr. Eric de Saventhem (R.I.P.), who was an original President of Una Voce, and who I respected enormously.

I considered Michael Davies (who I also wish R.I.P.) a Trojan Horse who had a tremendously harmful effect on the minds of a multitude of gullible people who wished no more than to be faithful catholics - but, who graduated into the mire of schism.

I also endorse the opinion of Catholic Culture as indicated by bear06, at catholicculture.org/sites/site_view.cfm?recnum=114 and particularly as expressed in the Weaknesses third Example.

I am missing your point. I linked to their site and you saw that accept all the teachings of the Church.

The Pope said Davies was in full communion with the See of Peter. Do you know something the Pope does not?
