IS it possible for all beliefs to reside in peace?

Not at the current moment it would seem. There would have to be the laying down of hostilities and then religious leaders be open to dialogue. While most of the earths religions or beliefs do co exist, there are some who don’t want peace, or don’t want to co-exist peacefully.

Man has been fighting in the name of religion for thousands of years. Why wont it stop? Why? because the devil loves discord and he loves to have man at each others throats.

Is it possible for us to have some sort of peace? I suppose, but that means that the fighting and arguing must stop, and people must sit down and have open dialogue.

but honestly, my opinion is, it wont stop until Christ returns. then it is guarenteed to stop isn’t it? Indeed.

It is not the religious people who fight, it is the non-believers/politicians who force fight on the religious people and then they blame them also.
Did Moses fight for a worldly kingdom?
Did Jesus fight to establish a worldly kingdom?
Did Muhammad fight to become a king?
No, none of them.
Unless there is peace there cannot be a good dialogue.

It is not just people and governments. Religions play a huge role in this. As long as there are religions that claim (and codify in law) a God given right to forfully convert, subjugate or kill all who believe differently to control the world under their beliefs then religious inspired wars, agression and hate will not end.

As we saw the in the 1900’s, war is not only caused by religion either… Nazism, Communism, Pol Pot, etc were not based on religion. Any ideology can be perverted by men who seek power and wealth to get the ignorant masses to do their dirty deed for them. Here when I say ignorant, I’m not talking about lack of formal eduation…

All religion could be removed from the world and it would change nothing is the way of violence and wars.

exactly. thus my point that the devil loves to cause discord and have man at each others throats. when Christ returns there will be peace. unending peace.
 
It seems to me that the worst violence happens when religious ideas are twisted around by politicians to justify hatred against another group of people, in order to grab their land or their resources, or for some other political reason.

Left to themselves, religious people are more likely to try to convert each other, rather than try to hurt each other.

Unfortunately it won’t happen until man can give up their pride and the neverending argument of who Daddy loves best. 🤷 The neverending insecent need to prove that everyone else sucks except for them. That and the fear that people will stop listening to them altogether…

The fighting won’t stop until everyone can acknowledge everyone else’s beliefs and practices and accept them peacefully, even though that may not be your personal belief. If veryone did this, so many deaths would be prevented. Even rants on homosexuality cause disruptions in peace.

See I don’t see that this should necessarily happen. JW’s, mormons, buddists, muslims, etc… they need to hear that they have it wrong because it is OUR responsibility to do this but we need to learn how to do this in Love, God’s Perfect Love, and not with our predudices and hatred behind it. Until we can stop this holier than thou attitude it will never be accomplished. What we need to do is accept those who believe that Christ is God Incarnate who died on that cross as the Holy Sacrifice in place of our own and focus on those who have completely denied Christ…

In Christ’s Name this is my prayer…

They think that you have it wrong. Except for buddhists. While they may disagree, they know that everyone’s path is different.

What you wrote is a prime example of how wars and religious intolerance start.

Maybe on the other side but not ours. If we do this in God’s Perfect Love the other side shouldn’t feel the need to start a war. A stirring in their soul? Yes, but not the need for blood.

If you aggrivate something enough, it will defend itself eventually. Christians do it, Muslims do it, Jews do it. Buddhists have better philosophies and don’t, but almost all other religions do.

But you miss my point… Within GOD’S love it is possible NOT to aggrivate them. That means not going up to them and telling them straight out that they are going to Hell with their beliefs. That puts anyone on edge. But when we emulate God’s love and reach out to them, feed their hungry, clothe their children they wonder about this God of ours even before we speak one word. By being like Christ we draw those who are seeking God to Him so that He may nurture the seed that we help to plant.
