I don’t the first lady is being asked to address those items. This is about literacy.
I don’t think that it is problematic for her to speak about literacy. Granted, if everyone knew her stance on those issues, then there is certainly a case for scandal. But I would argue that her primary focus is literacy and she is not widely know for gay ‘marriage’ and abortion support.
This could be used as a way to evangelize the first lady and help bring her to truth. If we started barring people who support abortion and/or gay ‘marriage’, then we would have to turn a way a lot Catholics

! Instead we should treat them with Christ’s love and work and pray to help the Holy Spirit convert their hearts.
