Is it Right for the Catholic Church to fund groups that attack the American Way of Life?

What does that mean? Lick the boot that kicks you!
You can mock the words of our Lord if you want. But that’s what he said.

That does not apply to a foreign government’s invasion of a country. Every person is expected to defend their country.

Don’t believe me? Look at all the wars sponsored by the Holy Roman Empire. It wasn’t until the Catholic Church lost its power in the world that it became humble.

READ A HISTORY BOOK!

It is more ‘polite’ to respond to another’s post then to their person-hood no matter where they hail from or to…
Of course. Your point?

The current poster truthsavesu made the point that since grampben is from England he has not business giving his opinion. I merely wanted to show the hypocracy in this. Perhaps I did not make myself clear. If I did, then I will stand by my opinion that this is hypocracy.

It is also polite not to join a board and start with day one, and ever post since, promoting hatred and lies.

Psst…it’s Ireland 😉

I didn’t say it is an EVIL EMPIRE. I said the lands were inhabited on possibly immoral grounds. But just cause something started off with an immoral action doesn’t make the whole thing immoral.
Ireland was founded by pagan celts who practised human sacrifices and fought naked.
Nations move on.
Nations have the rights of sovereignty and to make their own laws. And foreign governments are to respect them. Not to do so is an act of war by everyones definition.

Mexico flew into a rage when 10 years ago the US announced that they caught many Mexican banks laudering drug money. They said that their sovereignty was breach and demanded an apology from the US and wanted the US agents who conducted the operation in their country turned over to them.

Why is one nations rules to be respected and the other to be laughed at.

Oh yes, and the Holy Roman Empire was sooooo just wasn’t it.

My POINT was that the Catholic Church had much blood on ITS hands until its empire was taken from it. Now it is just a religion and we are all probably better off for it as Popes were never very good generals anyway.

Look at the crusades. What a mess!

It’s not easy to post and make lunch for a child at the same time. Maybe we should hang a sign out when you log into to CAF, “Irish need not apply.”😃

Most people read only what they want in these posts anyway!
Hmm. Your two days of experience tells you this?

The Holy Roman Empire was the first reich of Germany. It was run by the Holy Roman Emporer, not the Pope.

Your point was understood by me… I was merely adding to your post, not opposing it… as now.

Thanks. I have been unclear and mishmashy before, so I wasn’t sure. Imagine confusing Ireland for England! Like I said earlier, I was fixing lunch at the same time, but thank goodness for nap time.

Love this CA site! Where else can you have a few opposing each other while at the same time some agreeing with each other… on the same thread.

What a paradox…

WOW! I just happened upon this thread and am absolutely amazed at the vitriole! Had I not known better, I would have thought this forum to be a secular political one.

I haven’t read all these posts, nor did I get past the very first point of the OP link, namely, that city officials should not enforce current immigration laws. This is so entirely wrong and just makes me sick. It is a classic illustration of the damage done by those within the Church who tout liberation theology. This is what our donations have helped do with the millions contributed over the years to the Campaign for Human Development. They fund radical, leftist, marxist groups who do oppose a capitalistic society. IMHO, they are seditionists, and I will never give another dollar to them. Those who want more information should Google “Saul Alinsky” and see what his ideology was. To create havoc and gain political strength with whatever deception and means are available. (And you do know that the Catholic Church has also funded those groups fighting for abortion rights for the poor.)
