This is hard to put into words/explain but I am finding that now, after having prayed more and developing greater understanding about God/Jesus/the Catholic Church that I am getting the feeling to reject Jesus/salvation.
I almost feel as though God is trying to give me His grace but I choose to reject it.
This is bad to say on a Christian forum(!) but I almost feel a feeling of like hatred towards Jesus.

Is this my soul rejecting “salvation”?..Can a persons soul be in conflict with their mind?
In my mind,I believe that Jesus had wonderful teachings and is the last person you would want to hate so what is going on with me?

TBH I find it quite despairing:eek:

Its quite common for the prince of lies to go after us as we become closer to God.
It’s the mind. Mind games.
Our souls however, long for Him.
Pray the St. Michael prayer and push those thoughts out of your mind.

Peace.

It is the Will that accepts or rejects Jesus. The Will must be forced to lose its self-love and this can only be done by mortification and prayer. You should discuss this with a spiritual director.

“You may not be able to keep
crows flying around your head,
but you can certainly keep
them from making a nest there!!”
Is the Proverb for you, you KNOW
the consequences of rejecting Christ
so keep the Faith and Stand your
ground, Submit to God and Resist
the devil and he WILL FLEE from
you(James 4:7).

That’s like asking if it’s your body or your feet that walk around.

Your mind is a dimension of your soul, comparable to the feet as part of your body.

Your body uses your feet to move around, and your soul knows by means of your mind.

Teasing aspects of the human being apart, except as required in the face of death, doesn’t achieve anything.

I believe the mind converts the soul since its the mind that gains the knowledge of christ, and “hears” through our ears… however, interiorly the soul must make a decision too, so both

The soul is innocent, it’s the mind that makes the decision. Put the mind on the dock and cross-examine it. The poor soul often suffers the consequence of the mind’s doings.

If souls were innocent, they could not be judged.

Really, the only innocent part of someone is his or her body. Examine the human body, alive or dead, from skulldome to toes and hands, and you will not find sin there. Nor will you find it on a brain scan or an EEG printout. But a priest with the gift of “reading souls” (in the manner of Padre Pio) will find it easily in your soul.

BTW, the mind is an element of the soul, as is the will, both of which are directly involved in sinning as well as in the Godly life.

The body is a lesser associate to the mind in decision making. 😃

The body with the physical five senses do gravitate towards the flesh but it is the mind, the intellect, that will decide.

The soul is a non-player. It can be hurt and healed as a result of what the body does and the decision of the mind.

Therefore, one must keep the mind healthy, healed from any hurt or trauma and to be free to love God.

Our human person is made up body, mind and spirit (soul). The body is the physical part, the mind is the emotion and the soul is spirit. The latter is sick when the body and mind sin and vice versa - it is healthy when they are in a state of grace.

For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
