Is it weird to wear a wedding ring if someone is not married and never was?

I basically spent my late teens to almost late 20s wearing silver rings on multiple fingers, on both hands. The rings were all simple engraved bands, actually two turned out to serve as wonderful makeshift battery terminal sleeves for a friends car! womens wedding rings silver
 
Not clear on why anyone would do this, but as long as it's not blessed as a sacramental unique to the conferral of the Sacrament of Matrimony, I can't see any problem with it.

Using them as battery sleeves reminds me of MacGyver.
