Sorry - I haven’t gotten online for several days. I don’t keep up too much with Christian music genres you mentioned (although Kutless came to mind) but I think the thing is every artist is unique. There seem to be lots of Christian bands out there (and secular bands too) that kind of imitate other bands that have influenced them. But certain bands who are highly original, such as Queen or Rush … well who can really duplicate that sound ?I knew this was gonna happen, so I specifically stated in my first post …
…Alright then -
Find me some Christian progressive / power metal, or even ‘classic’ metal, something sounding like …
I think your original question, “is it Wrong? …” shows you are looking for your music to go along with your faith. I think that is very cool … but in a way maybe kind of hard. I guess the question could also be, “do i have to give up some of the things i like to follow You (Jesus) more closely ?”
I’m not saying you have to throw out all your Guns and Roses CDs because Axel Rose said a swear word in some interview somewhere. I’m just saying … well I guess keep looking - if you find even one or two Christian bands to your liking, that could be the beginning of a new musical direction for you. Let’s face it, all of our tastes change as we progress through life. (well - i guess not everyone’s…) Sometimes i think it’s worth it to push that process along.
Anway, here’s praying God will help you out, brother.
