The martial art is Krav Maga, it was founded by a Czech man as a way for the Jews to fight back against fascist gangs.

My friend who is a very devout Catholic thinks that I shouldn’t associate myself so closely with Jews. None of the people I train with are Jews, (to my knowledge) but he thinks it’s Jewish orogins make it innapropriate.

To give you some idea of what Krav Maga is it translates roughly as Close Combat. It is a self defense system unlike traditional martial arts with the white uniforms and belts etc. It focuses on attacking vulnerable points and defending simultaneously, it also incorporates defences against attacks with weapons. I thoroughly enjoy the training and it will be a useful tool for my future. Basically with a “him or me” mentality.

I would like to make it clear that the Jewish origins of Krav have nothing to do with the reasons I train in it. I train in Krav to further my ability to defend myself, my friends, my family and my property from attack. Also I will be joining the Police on my Graduation so it will obviously be a useful asset in my career.

What do you think? Am I wrong? Should I stop?

Your friend has some strange ideas, not supported by the Church’s teaching.

First, there is no prohibition from “associating” with Jews. Second, the Church has no prohibition on training in martial arts.

As long as this particular martial art has no spiritual component incompatible with the Faith (like some types of yoga do) then there is no problem.

So, your friend should either substantiate his claim with an actual Church teaching on the matter, or stop harrassing you about the matter.

This poster is right.

I’ve studied martial arts for years now, and from what little I know about Krav Maga, you’ve got to be one tough guy get into it.

God bless you, and good luck!

Hi, thanks to all for replying. Krav has no really spiritual aspect, it works on making defences and responses to attacks instinctive and works very hard on becoming mentally tough.

I will ask him to prove his argument when I see him 🙂
But didn;t the Blessed Virgin have “Jewish origins?”
Very valid point, again I will point this out to him when I see him next.

Yeah I agree, without boasting haha! I’ve been training for about a month and a half, taken 3 big kicks to the groin, a hard punch to the jaw, a headbutt to the cheek and my arm bent the wrong way at the elbow. All just in sparring, some people have no ability to control their attacks lol!

Thanks alot all. God bless.

Your friend has a very strange attitude towards the Jews. I have been training in Jew-Jitsu for a couple of months now and really love it. I have never seen anything wrong with it at all.

(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

You should start training in Jew-Jitsu in addition to Krava Maga. We need as many NinJews as we can get.

No, but this attitude is problematic. Your friend does not sound like such a good Christian to me, maybe you need new friends, and this hobby would be a good way to find them.

Yes that kind of attitude is the same attitude that inflamed the nazi ideology. Associating with those monkeys and pigs are forbidden".

Unless Zamudio… your friend is a socialist?

Unfortunately for the last two hundred years Jews have been allowed to integrate into general society and as a result their dangerous influence has been growing. Remember we’re not talking about a handful of people but nearly a whole quarter of one per cent of the world’s population. Here are some immediate steps to prevent you or your friend from being corrupted through exposure to things of Jewish origin:
  1. immediately shut down your computer including all laptops.
2)Shut off your cell phone including any use of the cell phone camera or sending SMS messages
  2. Don’t use any remote controls
  3. if you have a garden with an advanced sprinkler system its probably Jew Zionist
  4. If you have a 3d GPS get rid of it
  5. Don’t vaccinate yourself or your loved ones against polio
  6. Don’t let anyone discuss or teach modern physics.
  7. If you have a heart attack don’t let them use a defibrillator
  8. Don’t sing popular secular Christmas songs
  9. Don’t read the Bible
Of course these are only a few first steps. One can only hope that it’s not too late for you. It is for me.

He has always been quite arrogant in his attitude, but yes I have met a few nice people in Krav training.

Actually he is a die hard conservative, also he is studying theology in University with a view to join the priesthood. God help us all!

I have no issues with associating with Jews. Krav Maga has opened a new chapter to my life and I appreciate in immensely.

don’t forget, “as long as you’re not going to use it offensively” 👍

Are you saying yoga is sinful? Because, I know some people consider that to be a sin, since it is praying to other gods … correct me if i’m wrong. But, I do it for exercise and health benefit only. Would that be a sin?
