Is it wrong to work in a drugstore where I sometimes have to ring up plan B pills?

I wouldn’t work somewhere that sold that. You should have the freedom to be able to work somewhere else.
Pulling on that thread - where does it end, though? Would you be willing to invest in the merchant bank processor, or Visa/MasterCard, or a bank, say Wells Fargo if they underwrite securities that benefit a company like CVS? How about the utility company that provides electricity/water/natural gas to the organization? There are many many ways that an organization is integrated Into the supply chain, etc.

Bottom line to me…

How many times is Plan B purchased in your store? Is it 25 times a day? Is it maybe once a week or every few weeks? If it’s 25 times a day, I think that if you object, you should ask for another role at the store and not be the pharmacy cashier or work photo or not working a drugstore(I would guess that this would have to be purchased at the pharmacy rather than allowing it to be carried around the store and paid for at regular checkout.)

If it’s once in a blue moon, I would ask a coworker to ring it up instead. Bring it up to the manager so there is an agreement that they will come finish the transaction.

On the other hand, regular birth control pills have other uses and if a cashier grills them or makes them explain why they need it, I hope you don’t.

If a woman is going in for a polyp removal surgery, it is often prescribed to keep uterine lining thin to aid in the success of the surgery (the thinner the lining, the better it is for the doctor to identify and remove polyps.) Also, they are not allowed to have intercourse for anywhere from 72 hours to 2 weeks after the procedure depending on diagnosis and outcome and not for a bit before due to possible infection, so the pill is not preventing a pregnancy. Sometimes a woman has to be on it for a week or two prior to make sure she does not have her period because she may not have a choice the doctor has available at the hospital.

For me, it ends with the handing of the item to the customer and telling them to have a nice day. I mean that’s pretty direct. To be fair I would work in a store that sold these products but through the pharmacy not the check stand. That’s how most grocery stores do it. But really, if there is questionable things going on with the morality of it, don’t work there. We are a free people and can work or not work where we choose.

The truck driver who delivered the items to the store.
The company that built the truck they sold to the truck driver to deliver items to the store.
The truck stop that sold the diesel fuel to put into the truck the company who built the truck sold to the truck driver to deliver items to the store.
The oil company that refined the diesel fuel that the truck stop sold to the trucker to put in the truck the company that built the truck sold to the truck driver to deliver items to the store.

If I work at video store and someone rents a sexually explicit movie, am I contributing to the porn industry?
I know a Roman Catholic college where R rated videos are rented or loaned out. Why do the Roman Catholic authorities allow the rental of videos which blaspheme the Holy Name of Our Lord and show nude sex scenes?

That’s not completely true. You may want to work at a certain place, but they won’t hire you. Your choices may be restricted.

Ok. But you know the point I’m making right? The OP doesn’t HAVE to work at a place where they make you do something you don’t feel comfortable with.

I had to think on this question a while. lol
My conclusion is that Jesus said to be salt and light in this world. Can a person take on the job of cashier, and serve others with the love of Christ? Yes.

She is not the dispenser of the drug nor the buyer.

Be the prayer. Be the candle.

Because allowing adults to rent a movie doesn’t mean that you or the viewer necessarily approve of all the behavior depicted in the film. The Bible contains depictions of all kinds of objectionable behavior. Doesn’t mean Christians should avoid the Bible.

Also, not all nude scenes constitute pornography.
