Ummmm . . . how so? Just giving you the facts, my friend.
The facts…the fact that LutheranDK is a Catholid-hater???

Just because you say so doesn’t make it true.

It seems to me that the only fact here is that you are engaging in mud throwing to see if any of it is sticking. Guess what…none of it is
Protestantism is a divorced faction. Can’t face the facts? Then come home to the fullness of the Gospel. Jesus’s ONLY Church - the Catholic Church.
With all due respect, without proof…this is no more than a religious belief that you are putting forth as fact.

Now all of this may or may not be true, but if it is factual, the burden of proof is on you to demonstrate its truth.

BTW…coming home to me would be returning to the United Methodist church of my youth…which is not impossible that it will happen sometime.

I think elvisman is correct in stating what he’s said. He is defending his church, so what?

I think that by using this somewhat extreme example, a person like Jeffrey Dahmer, that it creates a problem for the whole OSAS argument, wouldn’t you agree?

No.

There are problems with the OSAS argument, yes.

The case of Jeffrey Dahmer has nothing to do with OSAS.

The issue of this thread is "Are there limits to God’s grace? Are there folks who have been just “so bad” in this lifetime that salvation for them is an impossibility?

Now I thought the (correct) answer of Catholicism to this question was no. But maybe have misunderstood.

You have not. God’s mercy is only limited by our accepting it and our death. Once we are dead, it is judgement time.

OSAS doesn’t apply to Dahmer. 1st of all we don’t know if the people who talked to him/baptized him were OSAS to begin with, why do you think they were? Even if they were, I see nothing in his life story that says he was “saved” before he did all those crimes. what I see are quotes from him AFTER he did the crimes wishing he hadn’t done it, Saying he had felt compelled to do it, like an addiction. Someone committing sins and then asking God’s forgiveness and getting baptized and then dying, inst an example that even appears to have something to do with OSAS.

I would say that he is more problematic for predestination or double predestination.

The Catholic Church is the ONLY Church established by Jesus Christ - and you don’t belong to it. Maybe that’s where the anger comes from.
You are a Catholic-hater. If that seems “foul” to you, then maybe it’s you who needs to change.
My suggestion to you is to, well, grow up and stop the hatred. A little Christian charity would also be nice.

**My, my - 24 and *still ***so full of hate. Most people grow out of that sort of thing by the time they’re in their early 20’s.
I’ll keep you in prayer.

PS
- Study your Church history a little closer. I’m certain you’ll see the light . . .👍
I just simply can’t take you seriously… You run around blurting out accusations, calling me a “catholic-hater” for no other reason than the fact that I disagree with you, and I am the one who needs to grow up and show charity?

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Why don’t you just keep quiet before you make an even bigger fool of yourself?

If you truly knew your church history, you’d be Catholic…

Then you realize your ‘church’ has only been around for eh…1500 years or so?
Oh, so this is the year 3000? Whoa…I must’ve time-traveled somehow. I guess I have some serious catching up to do…I just hope they found a cure for asthma nowadays.
Am puzzled, that computer sciences hasn’t advanced at all since the early 21st century, though.

What are you talking about? Protestanism had started in 1517…thought you knew church history??🤷

It’s not me who’s talking nonsense!
You said:

I assume you refer to the Lutheran church when you say “your church”, and 1500 years from 1517 is 3017. So you must be saying that this is the year 3017…

Don’t ask me to account for what you say yourselves.

I apologize, I meant to say 500 years…even worse…

Cathdefender - you might do the Catholic Church a favor and quit defending it.

Why would I stop when there are non-Catholics as yourself with resentment and attitude toward my holy, Catholic church?

The Roman-Catholic church may very well be the largest branch on the tree that is the Catholic church, but it is NOT the tree itself.
.
Hello LutheranDK,

I don’t know about you…

You might want to research the “Christian timeline” and specifally investigate the early schisms within the Catholic Church, well before any “Protestant Movement”.

The Roman Catholic Church, or the Latin Rite Catholic Church, or the “Catholic Church which has the Pope” …are all one and the same, they are all the Roman Catholic Church.

The Roman Catholic Church IS the “TREE”, and ALL other Christian denominations, broke from the Church in Rome and are the Branches. This isn’t an opinion, it is a historical fact.

Do you deny that the Roman Catholic Church collected, translated, and approved the Bible? The Bible did not come to us from the Orthioodox Church…Or any other Christian or “Catholic” Church for that matter, it came to us from the Church in Rome…you know, the one with the Pope…There is only one "Catholic” Church with a Pope. I don’t know if I can make this any clearer.

Don’t forget…Saint Peter, the first Pope is buried at Saint Peters Basilica…in Vatican City…

I would like to see the source that you have used, which indicates that Christianity did not start with the Church in Rome…the Holy See…the Roman Catholic Church…

This ought to be good…😃

Finally, I don’t take anything you say personally…I enjoy having discussions with you here at CAF…I don’t read any “hate” into your words…You seem like a very nice person who happens to have a slightly different take on Christianity…but you are still my Christian brother…

Peace 🙂
