I am wondering why the Hindu Religion states that Krishna is GOD when the Holy Bible states Jesus is GOD?
There are many religions… all claim to ‘own’ God.I am wondering why the Hindu Religion states that Krishna is GOD when the Holy Bible states Jesus is GOD?
Yes, each religion claims to have received the TRUE revelation from GOD, but how are we able to discern the TRUE teaching? There are many religions… all claim to ‘own’ God.
ISHKON States that Krishna is the Original Personality of GODHEAD. Other sects of Hinduism state that Vishnu is supreme, still others state MAHA DEVA (Shiva) is Supreme.Does Hinduism state Krishna is God, or that Krishna is A god? I think there might be your answer.
Yes, my idea is similar to that of the Vedas:ISHKON States that Krishna is the Original Personality of GODHEAD. Other sects of Hinduism state that Vishnu is supreme, still others state MAHA DEVA (Shiva) is Supreme.
Others state that Brahma is SUPREME.
I also read in the Srimad Devi Bhagavatam That all three are ONE GOD. Seems to me sort of like the Trinity.
AHIMSA, do you have any ideas about this?
They call Him Indra, Mitra, Varuna, Agni or the heavenly sunbird Garutmat. The seers call in many ways that which is One; they speak of Agni, Yama, Matarishvan.
– Rig Veda 1.164.46. VE, 660
Him who is without beginning and without end, in the midst of confusion, the Creator of all, of manifold form, the One embracer of the universe – by knowing God, one is released from all fetters.
– Krishna Yajur Veda, Shvetashvatara Upanishad 5.13. UPH, 407
Some Hindus see God most fully visible in Krishna; others, Siva; others, the Divine Mother. The Primordial Vastness is the sky. The Primordial Vastness is the sphere of space. The Primordial Vastness is the mother, the father, the son. The Primordial Vastness is all the Gods, the five sorts of men, all that was born and shall be born.
– Rig Veda 1.89.10. HP, 114
No, not all of the world’s religions claim to be revealed religions, or that there is only one God.Yes, each religion claims to have received the TRUE revelation from GOD, but how are we able to discern the TRUE teaching?![]()
Since Hindus do not accept as Holy Writ the texts you are referring to as “the Holy Bible” it only makes sense that Hindus would not proclaim Jesus as Divine. If they did they wouldn’t be Hindu would they?I am wondering why the Hindu Religion states that Krishna is GOD when the Holy Bible states Jesus is GOD?
How can you answer “no” to a “why” question? The short answer is “no”.
Why does the Christian religion state that Jesus is God when the vedas state that Krishna is God?I am wondering why the Hindu Religion states that Krishna is GOD when the Holy Bible states Jesus is GOD?
Whoa Nelly! Why does the Christian religion state that Jesus is God when the vedas state that Krishna is God?
Bhagavad Gita 10: 20:And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
I am the Supersoul, O Arjuna, seated in the hearts of all living entities. I am the beginning, the middle and the end of all beings.
I agree the questions are meaningless, if the socio-religio-cultural (SRC) contexts are not taken into account. If the SRC context is factored in, then even a comparison of Dutch and US law can be informative. My point was that both the questions are equally meaningless. It’s like asking “why does Dutch law say that x is legal when US law says x is illegal.”
For purposes of comparison, education or intellectual curiosity, certainly, but not as something theologically (or legally in the case of my example) binding.I agree the questions are meaningless, if the socio-religio-cultural (SRC) contexts are not taken into account. If the SRC context is factored in, then even a comparison of Dutch and US law can be informative.
sorry didnt see page 2 here and everyones tackled this, but still 2 quotes are stated, what all is said by both. Then we can get into who said it firstWhy does the Christian religion state that Jesus is God when the vedas state that Krishna is God?
