i think love is a force greater than religion.
Sure, because God IS Love… par excellence. The perfect expression of Love.i think love is a force greater than religion.
The love of God is why & where our religion generated from.i think love is a force greater than religion.
religion is love, it is as perfect love as humans can give, since it is given to the Creator, the source of all love, in response to His love for us.i think love is a force greater than religion.
can you explain that?religion is love, it is as perfect love as humans can give, since it is given to the Creator, the source of all love, in response to His love for us.
Our religion is from God - if we all followed His laws this would be a much better world, as we’d all be doing His will to do & be our best, according to His plan for our lives - remembering always to give Him thanks and praise…can you explain that?
religion is love?
i don’t know about that one.
history books tell me otherwise.
Without God there would be no such thing as love. Love is a meaningless statement apart from religion. It becomes superfluous. Just like any other transcendental term(truth, freedom, justice and etc.). For you to give love a high place in your philosophy is to posit a specific god as true.i knew someone was going to give me that line.
what does that mean God is Love?
what need we have of religion if we have love,
which is God. if you followed all the rules of
your religion to a T, but you did not have
love in your heart, do you still go to heaven?
If you mean Love as Agape, then you are correct. If you mean Love = Eros, then the answer is no. Love as Agape has been demonstrated perfectly by Jesus who sacrificed his life for his followers, not the other way around.i think love is a force greater than religion.
It would help if you defined your terms, because I do not understand what you mean by “love” or “religion” in this thread.i think love is a force greater than religion.
yes. mah bad.It would help if you defined your terms, because I do not understand what you mean by “love” or “religion” in this thread.
Your definition of religion is IMHO flawed. Religion is the relationship between a man and his God. The word religion should never be used pejoratively. Likewise, any relationship with God is organized as opposed to disorganized. Religion is spoken of by James in his epistle [see James 1:26-27].yes. mah bad.
yes love as in agape. love for one’s
children, parents, wife/husband, humanity, nature,
a sunny day, a rainy day, stars… etc.
religion as in the dogmatic teachings of an organised
church/temple/etc. religious beliefs, books, scriptures,
rules… all that, i say is second to love.
Please, please, please - don’t knock religion because it is organized - the opposite of organization is chaos. No one walks into their place of business & says they’re not going to follow the requirements, rules, & people in charge because it’s too organized - that’s nonsense.yes. mah bad.

regarding religion, there’s a difference betweenPlease, please, please - don’t knock religion because it is organized - the opposite of organization is chaos. Well, the agape love as defined above would be for one’s children (baptised in the Church) - from parents (married in the Church) - fellow man (the community of the Church) rain, sun, stars, etc. (created by the Creator)… all these gifts (including the invisible gift of grace) we are to continually thank our Lord for…
To revere the gift but forget the Giver is a form of idolatry - which is strictly forbidden by God as it is actually the absence of love.
I was using your definition of love from here:**
umm… gonna skip 2nd paragraph. i’m talkin
bout the gift of love, not the gift of children,
rain, sun and stars.**
Please correct me if I’m wrong - you are talking about a love, or appreciation for these things, right? And if so, what is wrong with taking the time to tell God, ‘Thank You’ for all the gifts He’s given us?yes love as in agape. love for one’s
children, parents, wife/husband, humanity, nature,
a sunny day, a rainy day, stars… etc.
In that case using the term “greater” in comparing the two confuses me. Because love is only possible with the grace of God. It is not possible for man to love apart from Him. God wants you to reciprocate love by obedience. His command was to follow Him. That means also becoming part of His Body, the Church. Love and religion are compliments. One leads to the other and vice versa.yes. mah bad.

You haven’t yet said where this force comes from.i think love is a force greater than religion.
