Is marriage to a woman a bad thing?

I don’t think Paarsuey means any disrespect in his posts. I’ve never seen anything from him that would imply he was less than sincere. Remember that Paarsuey comes from a completely different religious context. He also is enthusiastic about his beliefs and wants to share them. Some of the things are blasphemous to our beliefs, which should be a given or we’d all be the same religion. I really though have never got the feeling that anything he’s posted was intended to offend.

I do think there have been several honest misunderstandings however.

All of that being said the non-Catholic forums are volatile to say the least. Sometimes it seems like we’re all beating up on each other so much, that everything looks like an attack. I’m guilty of this myself. While the forums are an apologetics forum we should all try to keep in mind that the main focus is learning.

My husband doesn’t think so.

🙂

Christ’s bride is the Church. And so this marriage is our example. A marriage is holy. Bound by love. Both partners possess the same dignity that God has given all of us.

When a Catholic does not marry, this is not a statement against marriage, and you should not be offended as though it were. All is for God, whether we are married, or not.

LOL

I’m sure that’s true. We men get a pretty good deal when we convince one of you to stick with us. Lucky for us women seem to lack good eyesight. 😉

Alright. But the bride of christ is questionable in my opinion. We already have a lot of un-natural un-real things in the Catholic basket such as son and begotten son and father and man God. Now we have an unnatural bride. May not be good in my opinion. If you make us believe too many un-natural things then we will have nothing left with us to defend us against you while you will not be believeing any of our true and natural things..

**When a catholic does not marry… It is alright. But at present it is being presented as if it is the ideal state of life. But it is not in my opinion. It is against nature, another problem for the Catholics, in my opinion.

I feel that I should not give any more opinions to the friends here, in my opinion. So God bless you all.**

Hi friend rtconstant!

I agree with you.

I love Jesus and Mary as mentioned in Quran.

Thanks

Now coming back to topic: Re: Is marriage to a woman a bad thing?
I say it is not a bad thing. It is in fact the most lovely thing. It is a proof and consummation of Love. It is a necessity also.
I think planten just put it in a nutshell the differences between Islam and Catholicism

Catholics agree with that above statement except for the last 5 words

We don’t think it is a necessity, nor a way of proving perfection

One may choose to marry, or one may choose to serve God

We have Sacraments planten and paarsurrey

Maybe you should read up on them

One of them is the Sacrament of Vocation which is the Sacrament of Marriage OR the Sacrament of Holy Orders

I, personally, chose the Sacrament of Marriage.

Father Tony, my local Parish Priest, chose the Sacrament of Holy Orders

Then there are people who don’t choose either

I think “choose” is the wrong word actually

“Called” is the appropriate word

We are called by God to either marry or become a priest/nun/monk

Some of us are never chosen, which is God’s will, and cannot be argued with, or logically reasoned

So please read up on what Catholics believe before posting such silly threads that seem to try and argue with us, but without the knowledge used to make a rational argument

Hi

I think when I was posting on the Judaism forum, I posted some of my posts from there on my blog; when I was posting on a Atheists’ forum I posted some of my posts from there on my blog, and when I was posting on a Hindu forum I posted some of my posts on my blog. I could not find time to do more on my blog, I admit. If you want to see my posts which depict my winning them over or they winning me over, many useful posts out there, which would increase your faith as a Theist, undoubtedly.

If you want to see them all, you may google “paarsurrey” and you would get the clue from their search engine, become a member of these forums and you would be able to read my posts there. I recommend to read my posts on the Atheists forum, which is our joint standpoint with the Catholics.

I am a friend of the Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Hindus and the Atheists/Agnostics as we all are human beings and need to be uplifted morally, spiritually and of course physically to start with.

You may access my posts there if you like, in my opinion; with least or no compulsion.

I love Jesus , Mary as I love Socrates, Buddha and Krishna

Thanks why do you think any CHRISTIAN needs to read your post,by your words they are just your opinion

They are real. God has revealed them as truths.

The ideal state of life is serving God. Some do it in marriage, others do not.

Yes, our passions are natural. But we are not wild animals who hunger and pace and must be let out of a cage in order to find peace. We can control our passions, which is not violence against nature.

The Wedding of Jesus

Hi

I think marriage to a woman is the most pleasant thing in every civilised society and culture of the world and is celebrated as such. It is pro life and pro humanity, in my opinion.

My Catholic friends don’t need to believe it, if they think, marriage to a woman is injurious to their faith, in my opinion.

I love Jesus

Thanks
Marriage to a woman defineitely is not a bad thing, except for those who chose to serve God out of his/her own will. See, Mat 19:12. Remember, the gospel of Matthew was not written by Paul.

Marriage is from God.
Tim4:1-3
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

The reason I get the anti family vibe from the Catholic church is all the, well… the virgin Mary, Jesus not being married, the anti marital statuses of the leaders (priests and nuns) in the church. How can they possibly lead their flock wisely if they do not experience the same things in life that you all do? What kind of example are they for you in your day to day lives? 🙂

Jesus is our example and Who we follow.

Is marriage to a woman a bad thing?

Marriage is a beautiful union of man and woman; the culmination of their love. It’s a devotion of one’s love for the other. How do we express our devotion to the one we love? It’s by giving ourselves completely to the one we love for his/her pleasure and goodness.

Islam/Muslims treat marriage very casually, do not respect it and therefore has no love for it. Their attitude toward it therefore is closer to Satanism - whereby sex is purely about pleasure and to satisfy man’s lust. It is little wonder that everything goes in Islamic sexuality - even sex with children and daughter-in-laws. The more sex they have the better Muslims they will be. Mohammad had shown the example.

Is marriage to a woman a bad thing?

The question reflects how Islam sees marriage and sex. Islam sees it as a gateway to legal sex, not so much about marriage itself. Muslims can get married for an hour or so, have sex, and then divorce. A woman must have sex with another man first before she can remarry her former husband. I feel Islamic marriage is not ideal practice and should be avoided for those who love God. Their idea of mariage / sex is sinful and Satanic. Just my opinion.

Well, where should I start?

First, the fact that Mary is ever-virgin does not imply that families are bad. It just shows that Jesus has no earthly father or siblings.

Second, the fact that Jesus never married proves nothing. He himself said that he must be about his Father’s business. Marriage was not part of it for him.

You have confused the CHOICE not to be married with being AGAINST marriage. That is an invalid position. I do not know what business you are in. Some jobs require more time and devotion from the employees than others. Being a priest is one of them. If a man is not married, he can devote more of his time to dealing with it.

It is a silly assertion that if you do not experience something, you cannot be expected to help others with it. Would you only use a male doctor who has had prostate cancer to treat it? Or only use a female obstitrician who has had a baby to deliver one? Or would you only drive a car that was built by people who only drove that car? Must your mechanic have the same car you have?

The fact that someone says “Yes, I want to be married but I will give that up to serve God” MAKES them an ideal candidate to lead a flock.

I hope I do not come across as sarcastic to you when you read the following, though it is going to be difficult to word the obvious to the above w/out sounding as such :getholy: ; but…

Really? Because you are aware that Jesus was Jewish and endorsed the Law and the prophets, correct? I would think that if one truly were living their lives according to the example he set, they would not be subscribing to Catholicism, but rather highly opposed to its Hellenistic/ Paganistic practices and beliefs. shrugs

Certainly, they would not be worshiping an image/man as God.

Well said Noone, It apears that the chritian faith has been built on purpose. But still there are some sects in christianity who marry and marry more than one. I cannot recall their names. Pehaps mormons are one of them. But there are other christian sects too who marry heavily.

Jesus is our example and Who we follow.
**We wish it was like that. But it is not and it cannot be. Firt of all, Jesus cannot be any example because he is God.

The second thing is that his bride was church. Would it be so for all the men. If Jesus is an example then no man need to go near any woman, in my opinion. But please do not mind. You keep trying to convince me about your beliefs. At the same tiem keeping my points in view.**

Well, where should I start?
The beginning is always a good place. Well, that was an easy question… next! 😛
First, the fact that Mary is ever-virgin does not imply that families are bad. It just shows that Jesus has no earthly father or siblings.
Hmm… I will definitely search myself so I can know definitively, but it seems to me that even the NT declares Jesus having siblings. James the Just being one of them, correct?

Also,a virgin birthing a child is so obviously a lie. It is against the Laws of Nature and in Malachi 3:6 God makes it clear that He will not change. He does this so that we could decipher the Truth from the deception.

The Virgin Birth Concept had long been in play by the Hellenistic cultures before Jesus was even birthed to his mother and his earthly father. Egypt, Greece, and Rome were the ones who worshiped mythological concepts of gods, not the Jewish people.
Second, the fact that Jesus never married proves nothing. He himself said that he must be about his Father’s business. Marriage was not part of it for him.
Some example he was, huh?

True, but if one is to support the family unit, then their leaders should have experience in the more stressful roles of the family unit… that being the partnership and the parenting roles. And through your following questions, I will show you the logic of why I am right.
Would you only use a male doctor who has had prostate cancer to treat it?
NO, but the doc would certainly need to have experience in how to treat the patient physically since that is what he is being paid for. Would you go to said doctor if he had no hands on experience in how to treat you?
Or only use a female obstitrician who has had a baby to deliver one?
This is brilliant! The first obstitrician was in fact a man and though he was kind and experienced in delivering babies, there was a notable difference with my second go at it, in which case was aided by a female obstitrician who had several children. She knew the ins and outs through experience and was better equipped to help me and handle me with care than was the male doc. Get it? Need I go on?
The fact that someone says “Yes, I want to be married but I will give that up to serve God” MAKES them an ideal candidate to lead a flock.
Not logically since God has commanded us to serve our fellow human beings… that is serving God.
