Believe it or not I was mormon but I don’t really care if anyone believes it or not. I am ashamed of the fact that I was once mormon and feel that it was one of my greatest sins! Only thing I cared about was clarifying that mormons are not christian. I believe all religions have truths and have congregations full of brothers & sisters in christ except for LDS which is a mockery to god by claiming he was a man and we can some day become equal with him. This is called blashemy and anyone who preaches this is a false prophet. Enough said!

God holds us up jake23. I was an atheist and for a while I apologized to God, a lot, for that one.

He forgives us jake23 and I believe He is as happy we are with Him as we are to be His.

Re: Is Mormonism Christian ?

No it is not! Here are some of their beliefs.

First you ask “is it true?” Only to William Smith
“William Smith?”
Do they believe in the Trinity: NO they do not!
Well, that’s mostly true; we don’t believe in it the way most Christians do.
Do they believe in an All Good, All Wise, All Powerful God as our Creator? NO they do not!
Well, yeah, we do.
Do they beleive in Heaven and Hell? NO they do not.
Well, yeah, we do.
Do they believe in the bible (any Chrsitian Bible)? NO they do not.
Well, yeah, we do. As a matter of fact, one of our Articles of Faith comes right out and says this: “We believe the bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. We also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.”

We prefer the KJV, but don’t have a problem with Strong’s or Young’s…unless of course you don’t think that the KJV is a “Christian Bible?”
Do they believe that Jesus Christ is God and man? NO they do not. (Jesus is only a very good man, and when he rose from the dead, it was “as Michael The Archangel” not God and man.
Actually, we believe that Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of God, the Second member of the Godhead; fully God…and fully man.He was born of a virgin, grew to manhood, taught for three years, was crucified and died. He arose on the third day, resurrected. We believe that He was indeed Jehovah.

I think you have us confused with the Jehovah’s Witnesses…and I’m not all that certain that THEY believe that Jesus is Michael, either. I just know that we don’t.
Was their Leader picked by God? No he was not. William Smith picked William Smith, proclaimed himself a Prophet and an Apostle.

They are a none-chrsitian religion!
Well, m’friend, I can understand why you would have problems with a religion where William Smith declared that Jesus was/is the archangel Michael, and which does not believe in any 'Christian bible."

Aren’t you relieved to know that Joseph Smith didn’t declare any such thing?

I guess you didn’t want to answer any of my questions about your membership in the CoJCoLDS?

You could have, you know; simple answers that would have confirmed your membership; what ward? did you hold the priesthood? Did you go to the Temple? Did you serve a mission?

Again being dishonet! LDS believe that the bible in inacurate and that the only acurate scripture is the book of mormon! It is too late at night right now but I will pull up chapter and verse from joseph smith saying so tommorrow! The god and christ in your book is not the same as in the only word of god aka the bible. If you want to keep lying tpo yourself that is your own perogative but quet trying to fool us!

And Could Smith Have A True Prophet From God ? And If Yes, Why
No, Mormons are not Christian. They believe the Mormon bible is more correct than the Bible. They follow the teachings of Joseph Smith. btw, Smith was killed in a bar room gun fight.

They also teach God was once a man on another planet
All this can be read at,

God bless you,

LOL! Anything to avoid the truth! I don’t care if you believe I was mormon I only care that others now the truth about a false prophet! Why don’t you reply about the contradictions between the bible and the mormon beliefs? oh yeah its because you believe the book of mormon is not acurate! Watch the bio "the book of mormon vs. The bible with an open heart and then justify your beliefs!

'bar room gun fight?"

Well, if you can call an upstairs cell in the Carthage jail a "bar room,’ …

Oh. wait.

You can’t.

And if you can call 200 armed men in blackface attacking that jail under the impression that the men they are about to murder were unarmed, you could call that a ‘gun fight’

Oh. Wait.

You can’t.

And if you could call the fact that Joseph managed to fire his wee pepperbox three times before it misfired…AFTER the mob had killed his brother, and that when he was shot himself he didn’t have a gun on him (and it was really obvious that he didn’t have a gun on him) a gunfight…

Oh. Wait.

You can’t.

you are the one claiming to have been a Mormon. Those should be very easy questions to answer.

Jake, before we talk of ‘truth,’ you have to prove to me that you are telling some.

What ward? Did you hold the priesthood? Did you go to the Temple? Did you serve a mission?

Jake:

To answer the question of the OP:

I don’t know.

I don’t like getting into these types of conversations for two reasons:
  1. Christianity is already so ridiculously diverse that it defies utility to argue over who is a “true Christian”.
  2. Arguing who is or isn’t a “true Christian” smells as awful as the logical fallacy from which it obviously comes (see: “No True Scotsman”)
Well my young friend today is the day!:clapping:

Not only will I supply the answer to the OP, I’m going to share why:extrahappy:

The answer is a Defenitive NO!:nope:

They do NOT Believe in God (capitol G.)

They do NOT Beleive in the Blessed Trinity

They do NOT Believe that Jesus is God

They do NOT Belive in a need for Baptism

They do NOT Beleive in the Bible

Therefore they cannot and most certainly ARE NOT Christians:tsktsk:

God bless you!

er…yeah, we do.
They do NOT Beleive in the Blessed Trinity
Which version? But this is true, we do not call ourselves trinitarians, though we do believe that there are three Persons in the Godhead; the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.
They do NOT Believe that Jesus is God
er, yeah, we do.
They do NOT Belive in a need for Baptism
Boy, do we ever believe in the need for baptism! Full immersion, as a matter of fact.
They do NOT Beleive in the Bible
er, yeah, we do. We actually use the KJV, but there isn’t any restriction about using other translations.
Therefore they cannot and most certainly ARE NOT Christians:tsktsk:

God bless you!
Well, if those are the reasons you don’t think we are Christians, then you should be breathing a huge sigh of relief about now. 😉

The Catholic Church does not accept the validity of Mormon baptisms, and therefore, the Catholic Church does not accept Mormons as Christians.

That’s ok, LDS do not accept the validity of the Catholic baptism, but we do accept you as followers of Christ. We don’t use check lists to determine that.

Paul

You do not believe in the validity of the original christian church started by st. Peter? LOL! How many accolt members are there on this catholic web site anyways? Mormons are not only a non christian group they are the closest manifistation of blasphemy! Why are you poeple on this sight? You know catholics are not foolish enough to fall for your lies
