Is not personally praying to God for two days a Mortal Sin?

Because I just confessed a day before that. I couldn’t bring myself to pray. Does that mean I’m in the state of sin again?

when you don’t feel like praying is exactly when you should pray anyway-Jesus is always with you, closest to you when it seems He is not there…(as long as you are in a state of grace) So, just begin to pray and acknowledge what you are feeling-you might be amazed how quickly the Holy Spirit will hear you and inspire you with new understanding and inner peace.

God Bless you on this, His Son’s triumphant day!

Not a mortal sin to skip a day or two, but will lead to laziness if it continues-give yourself a break and start again.

Sloth is a sin, but I’m not sure if I would say it’s mortal sin.

It’s definitely not a mortal sin if you’re not entirely aware of the consequences.

I kind of thought it was a mortal sin, but I wasn’t sure. If it’s not, then I’ll start taking the Eucharist again.

Do you know the deal for Divine Mercy Sunday?

Divine Mercy Sunday was established by Pope John Paul II as the first Sunday after Easter. From Good Friday to Divine Mercy Sunday, there’s a novena in which each day there is a special intention for the Divine Mercy Chaplet. At my parish, there will be the recitation of the Divine Mercy chaplet as well as adoration.

Amen to that. If everyone prayed only when they felt like it, the world would fall apart. It’s just something that we have do, like eating or sleeping.

The “secret” is this: Praying when we don’t feel like it is how we get to feel like praying. (Not everyone is graced with this desire, as we well know.)

I guess I can’t do the novena. I was going to start today, but it turns out that it started on Good Friday. Had I known, I would have started then.

When you pray and you don’t feel like it, offer it up because you are gaining my mortifying your flesh.

I’m afraid that sloth is one of my trouble spots, too. I’m working on it, but I’m still a work in progress.:o

God Bless,
