i believe that God can bring about a better good than any evil Satan has to offer.But the question is is porn bad.You who agree with are taking the Jewish pt.of view who believe that man advances through persecution.This may be true but is that the only way man can advance?God does not allow evil for man’s betterment.Evil is from Satan which God hates.Man in his fallen nature does Satan’s work.Man and Satan do the evil.God wants man to better himself by obeying His commandments.Then we can live in peace and go about making this world a better place for everyone.

My gosh man! **You are completely wrong that St. Thomas and St. Augustine approved of, or championed legalized prostitution. You can’t show one authentic quote. **I happen to have the entire summa in hard copy.

Even if they did agree with it,does that mean they were right?
Isn’t people-even Catholic Fathers today in the media etc-giving personal quotes/opinions different from something being declared as infallibly right and true?

For example a Cardinal Pell from Australia before said he believed all divorced people should have to pay a tax.This appeared in the newspapers as a “controversial” statement and it is unlikely that all the other priests agreed with him.
So this is his personal opinion/view,just like everyone else has freedom to express one,but his opinion is spoken from a “man” and not from infallibility.
So wouldn’t the same thing apply to Aquinas etc,as an opinion spoken from a mans views on the ways he felt society at that time should be, and not from infallibility?

If you’re saying that porn is morally wrong and God deplores it, I agree. I also agree that we ought to fight porn wherever and whenever possible.

I’m not sure that I’m taking the Jewish perspective, and have not given it any thought.

The only thing I’m sure of is that God can bring about a greater good from any evil Satan has to offer. But I’m inclined to think that Porn can act as a raw sewage pipe in society at large, similar to the thinking of St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas on prostitution.
