And so, in daily life, if punishments are used to complete justice, is justice attained if the unjust man does not know he is being punished but takes pleasure in his punishment?
I think the answer is no, especially since Aristotle says that no one can be punished according to his will (except metaphorically, a position I think Aquinas accepted (hard to understand Jesus then though, except that Jesus was not perhaps, punished in the strict sense of the word)).
