How do we respond to claims that the Bible is misogynistic?
It was written from within a patriarchal society and it reflects those times. Would we class it as misogynistic now? Yes, we would. Two thousand years later and we still haven’t reached a point where there is universal equality for women…How do we respond to claims that the Bible is misogynistic?
So would you prefer to live in biblical times? The Bible is fine. The problem is the modern culture, poisoned with liberalism
Equality means the best person for the job - man or woman. Equality means equal wages - for men and women. Equality means equal opportunity - for men and women. It isn’t possible to have equality for both sexes. That is why in the bible men and women have different roles. The Bible was never and has never been sexist.
You’re not married, are you…Best person for the job is going to be a man.
Men work longer.
Men take less days off.
Men are more aggressive in the workforce.
Men also are the most intelligent.
Men make more money.
Men take on jobs that are more hazardous and require more risk.
Men don’t have babies.
Women in this day in age have more opportunity than men.
Women are happier not working than when they are.
WA, you started by claiming that the bible was not misogynist and then posted the most sexist comments I’ve seen in this forum.Well you call me out yet give no actual explanation as to what I said was wrong OR where I asserted anything I said was a Church teaching. I simply destroyed @Freddy notion that there was no “equality” because there cannot be equality given the biological predisposition of men and women.
