thanks to adstrinity for the eytomological dissertation, though think that celtic crusader was using the term cult in the sense of Jonestown, Guyana and those folks w/the funky sneakers-“heavens gate”, lol.
Orthodox IS Catholic so to say Catholic is false is a denial of Orthodox. So Protestantism is a heresy, albeit a true heresy.
Catholicism is false, but orthodox…![]()
Estesbob: I can tell you have no answers to anything I have given you. You would do well to listen then. I have not cut and pasted anything here. I answered all questions with clear scripture as I have done in all my posts. You then resort to slanderous statements and try to rally others to your side because you have no idea where to go. That lostness you are feeling can be changed. Stop trying to ignore the fact that you have been answered with truth and now you have nothing left to say but attack.Don’t you just love it when Protestants come her , cut-and-paste the same old anti-Catholic Garbage, and then accuse US of being angry when we asked them to back up the nonsense they post? fallenoverthebink have been confronted on many threads and asked to back up his opinion. All you will ever get from him is cut-and-pasted out of context Scripture verses followed by indignation when you don’t interpret them the way he wants you to.
The bible does mention Peter’s wife. He was marriedThe Bible never says Peter was married. He could just have well been a widower.
Yeah they were but haven’t you gotten into something because of your passion for it then after time the reality of day to day sits in. Also think of howm many times they are comforting other women and we all know where that can go. That was not a sexist statement but a statement on vulnerabilityWhat a strange statement. Surely any priest would have been aware of the whole celibacy thing before his ordination. Why did they still become priests?
Really, how many times has that happened, and can you prove it?Yeah they were but haven’t you gotten into something because of your passion for it then after time the reality of day to day sits in. Also think of howm many times they are comforting other women and we all know where that can go. That was not a sexist statement but a statement on vulnerability
Very thorough post, but the last line pertains to me.No, but, some could argue that Jesus was.
It is impossible to be a Christian and be separated from the one true church founded by Christ. The Church he founded is composed of all believers in Jesus Christ.Well, there’s the proof that are not, in fact part of Jesus’ Church.
You can’t speak for those who don’t believe in baptismal regeneration because there are so many differing beliefs within Protestantism.
**I’m not **saying that you’re not a Christian - I’m saying that you are a Christian who is sef-separated from the ONE Church established by our Lord.
Catholics can also point out this assertion by Jesus in the Bible…as well as point out this assertion by the Early Church Fathers. If Jesus says it, I believe it’s so.It is impossible to be a Christian and be separated from the one true church founded by Christ. The Church he founded is composed of all believers in Jesus Christ.
Catholics can repeat and re-repeat the assertion that the Roman Church is the Church Christ founded; but it doesn’t make it so.
What Bible are you reading? Are you making up verses again? NEVER is Peters wife mentioned. His mother-in-law is mentioned, but again, like I said, he could have been a widower. The bible does mention Peter’s wife. He was married
This post from you confirms your idiocy. Not a very charitable statement, but I call it like I see it.Yeah they were but haven’t you gotten into something because of your passion for it then after time the reality of day to day sits in. Also think of howm many times they are comforting other women and we all know where that can go. That was not a sexist statement but a statement on vulnerability
This type of personal attack is so common here. I wonder why. I simply have stated that there are real temptations that Priests are under I guess you can’t see the big picture enough to understand that or have no significant experience to have experienced any temptation in your life. In any event your personal attack and name calling only serves to make you look foolishThis post from you confirms your idiocy. Not a very charitable statement, but I call it like I see it.
yeah he could have been a muslim too. He in fact could have been many things. Use your brain here! You keep searching though and what you cannot understand you will twist. What Bible are you reading? Are you making up verses again? NEVER is Peters wife mentioned. His mother-in-law is mentioned, but again, like I said, he could have been a widower.
show me! You can’t! sorry but that is a lie and one on Gods Word. I believe you KNOW that is a lie and I pray that God forgives you for that.Catholics can also point out this assertion by Jesus in the Bible…as well as point out this assertion by the Early Church Fathers. If Jesus says it, I believe it’s so.

does this include the Arians, manacheus and all the other heretical group that arose along the years of christianity development? It is impossible to be a Christian and be separated from the one true church founded by Christ. The Church he founded is composed of all believers in Jesus Christ.
Catholics can repeat and re-repeat the assertion that the Roman Church is the Church Christ founded; but it doesn’t make it so. The kingdom of God is the Church, and the kingdom of God is found within; in the hearts of the regenerate who put their trust in the saving work of Christ on the cross. Not the building they enter, the rites they perform, the liturgy they celebrate, the ministers they worship under, or the name of their individual communions.
Thanks for the reminder to use my brain. Here’s a link that explains why Peter did not have a wife.yeah he could have been a muslim too. He in fact could have been many things. Use your brain here! You keep searching though and what you cannot understand you will twist.![]()
That would be a very starnge "church " indeed-a “church” made of people who have a wild diversty of opinons(often diametrically opposed) on the nautre of Christ and what is necessary for salvation. A “church” where many of the “member” believe everyone else in the “church” is going to hell if they dont accept their personal interptetation of their favored translation of Scriptre. It is impossible to be a Christian and be separated from the one true church founded by Christ. The Church he founded is composed of all believers in Jesus Christ.
