Is the CC the church of Matthew 16?

Well then name them, matters not to me. I am in the universal Church that Jesus founded, my faith. The church is a church of believers.👍

Give me the name of the man who founded Zion Lutheran Church in Orange, CA, USA. If you cannot, that PROVES that Jesus did.

I realize that is what your faith tradition teaches you…and I respect that…I have no need to “prove it” as you say…if your faith tradition makes sense to you and you find peace and your actions and life move you to compassion for others…and your words inspire mercy and love…then I am glad you have found a faith which makes sense to you.

I have “proven” it to myself…and that is all that is required in my mind for me to be faithful to my beliefs…I have no need to “prove” them to you…what would we accomplish? It is not my desire for you to change religious traditions if you are content where you are…nor do I believe I could…any more than you can prove otherwise to me.🙂

Might not the answer be Peter? For Jesus gave Peter the Keys to his kingdom as in Matt 16:19. Or look in John 21:15-17 where Jesus tells Peter to Feed My Sheep, or Acts 15:7, during the first Church Council, the Council of Jerusalem where Peter go up and said, Brethren, you know that in early days God Made choice among us, that through MY mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the Gospel and believe. From Peter is where the Jeusu Christs Church started which happens to be the univerisal Church (Catholic).

Protestant churches don’t claim to be the Church. The equivalent of a Protestant denomination would be a Catholic “particular church” or perhaps a Catholic religious order.

Got it. My sister agrees with you, however, that doesn’t answer my question. Each one of these catholic churches (small c) - has a different founder. Are they universal in faith - sure, but not doctrinally speaking, and they are not representative of the same CC of the early days of Christianity. Edwin, forget the assumption ( I apologize) - and simply answer the question, unless you don’t want to; that’s cool. 👍
