Catholics, and most other Christians, believe that Christ, the only begotten Son of God, was the messiah prophesied in the Old Testament. There can be no other. Christ is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.I am curious how this prophecy of the Moshiach’s coming fits into Christian eschatology - especially for evangelical Christians who seem to be very close to Israel and believe a lot in Jewish scripture/prophecy.
If someone claiming to be Moshiach does come very soon, how will/should Christians and the rest of the world welcome him? Is a another ‘Son of God’? Or is he a just a Prophet? Is he a precursor to the Christ’s Return or will he be as powerful as the Christ himself?
Any comments are appreciated.
