A mathematician will wonder why you arbitrarily stopped at three factors. 1=1 works, as does 1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1=1.
Now your getting into Taylor series.A mathematician will wonder why you arbitrarily stopped at three factors. 1=1 works, as does 1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1=1.
Now your getting into Taylor series. Therefore a case exist where infinity exist on a finite distance. defined as [0,1]
smhWhat I don’t get is why so many people want to “understand” the Trinity.
Why not just accept It for what It is, and be grateful? It just IS.
God isn’t about logic, He’s about faith.![]()
Thats like saying what about a electron ?What about Hydrogen?![]()
Google what a Atom is made up Of and it will tell you that it is made up of ‘‘3 distinct elements’’> proton, neutron, electron.Except Proton is not an atom, Neutron is not an atom, Electron is not an atom. This is 3 gods. Not trinity.
Because we are dealing with 3 distinct Persons that Make up 1 God…1x1x1=1A mathematician will wonder why you arbitrarily stopped at three factors. 1=1 works, as does 1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1=1.
Two problems:Because we are dealing with 3 distinct Persons that Make up 1 God…1x1x1=1
Jews and Muslims say 1 distinct Person that make up 1 God…1=1
If the Persons in the Godhead increased then it could be 22 distinct Persons that make up 1 God.
1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1=1.
But all that means is that each part is a subset of the whole. The trinity is supposed to represent something more than just members of a group. Apollo, Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades are all Olympians but you wouldn’t call Greek mythology monotheistic.Google what a Atom is made up Of and it will tell you that it is made up of ‘‘3 distinct elements’’> proton, neutron, electron.
God is Made up of ‘‘3 distinct Persons’’> Father, Son. Holy Spirit.
Two Hydrogen atoms are walking along the street. What about Hydrogen?![]()
Absolutely seconded (and the second post by exoflare). katapi.org.uk/index.htmlRead “Theology and Sanity” by Frank Sheed, the chapters relating to the Trinity and God’s nature. You’ll thank me later.
The Lord only reveled Himself in 3 Persons. There is equality because the Son is in the bosom of Father, The Father is in the Son. And the Holy Spirit is in ‘‘Both’’ the Father and the Son.Two problems:
- There’s no reason that there couldn’t be further entities that make up the Godhead unbeknownst to Christians. Perhaps God is really 1x1x1x1x1 but Christians are only aware of 3/5ths of Him.
- On a mathematical basis it doesn’t work because not only is there are an equality portion but an inequality portion. The Father is not the Son. The Son is not the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not the Father. With your example, you’re saying three times over that 1 does not equal 1.
Thanks… I don’t know why I forgot to mention you can read it online, so no excuses. :doh2:Absolutely seconded (and the second post by exoflare). katapi.org.uk/index.html
I mean really, there’s a lot of nonsense going on. Just read it.
I find the “One what, three whos” explanation persuasive, and also distinct from the two heretical options.Well, I’m not an engineer or scientist - so maybe if I was, I would get it.
But here you’re talking about a concept that is not tri-theism.
Nor is it modalism.
So what’s left? As best as I can tell, nothing.
