Like a brotherhood or something where they don’t take the vow of chastity.
All married people are called to Chasity. So I don’t think this would be a reasonOne can be a Third Order and be married while also being a professed member.
@Cloisters
again, being married has nothing to do with it. Married people must be chaste.In many Eastern Rites, many clergy can be ordained if they were married prior to receiving Holy Orders.
In the Latin Rite, you can become a Deacon if you are married.
We’re mixing chastity, which everyone is called to, with celibacy, which priests and other religious are called to.if you are married.
Why would a religious person not want to live a life of chastity?Like a brotherhood or something where they don’t take the vow of chastity.
So, do you mean chastity or celibacy?Like a brotherhood or something where they don’t take the vow of chastity.
Well, this is not technically true.Chastity is a prerequisite for celibacy.
