Hi,

I think the submissive wife thing is killing me. That is probably the biggest sin in my life:eek: OOPs did I just admit that out loud:eek: 😃 And the gossipping and/or talking too much. Not that talking too much is a sin but the more I speak the more chances for me to sin.😦 I LIKE TO TALK!!!

No I would never think of startin a new religion. GOD FORBID:eek:
ALL for HIM–

Keep in mind the BIBLE says MEN MUST LOVE their wives.

NO WHERE IN THE BIBLE is a wife commanded to LOVE their Husband.

Does that cheer u up?šŸ˜‰

LOL It is the rspect thing. That is very difficult for me, but Im getting better and my husband is responding positively. But man why did God have to make men so hard to live with. šŸ˜‰

Maybe cuz he knows women need more of a challenge or they get bored.

I dunno. SOme things are better left a mystery. Like Tofu.

Someone said," I suppose if there was one thing I would change, it would be that priest’s allowed communicants to receive Our Blessed Lord kneeling. But apart from that, no, love her just the way she is."

My comment is that the G.I.R.M. states communicants may receive standing or kneeling. Case closed.

I am an older Catholic and still prefer the Latin Mass. Today there is one thing that I don’t like and that is singing during Communion. I want to pray just after receiving the Most Holy Host for I feel the closest to Him at that time. Stop the loud singing at Communion. But they didn’t ask me - right?

Some people still kneel in my church. noone cares. Priests have no qualms about anyone kneeling. they know when one does this, the holy Spirit is truly in them, for I’ve seen the Holiest people in my church, and they are the kneelers. One lady still wears the lace top to cover her head. Remember those? Another holds a large crucifix tight to her chest through the whole Mass. Some kneel during ā€œThe Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.ā€
People will worship in any way they want b/c I truly believe The Holy Spirit is in them. Some people feel funny in church to do anything different. I hold my hands out when we say The Our Father. Lots don’t. I stare at the life size crucifix as I say it. will not move my eyes off of it. When I genuflect I go completely down and bow my head. I don’t care. You are on Holy ground.

I guess I am guilty too. I have bought Kosher products and never guessed as to the political underhandedness you just brought to mind here.

I think I am going to find the non Orthodox producer next time so I can help make it fair.

My child likes Matzo, the chicken soup matzo stuff, and even some of the stuff I cant type cause it makes me sorta wonder why she likes it like the bean soup stuff? Yikes! But God love the kids, give em what they want in regard to food anyway. She even likes Hebrew National hot dogs.

I dunno. Maybe its a sign of something.
Heh. Good luck. Let me know what you find.

I see your point. I did not correct Sixtus since I already had enough with doing that on another thread re: Masons.

So, I think Its okay you feel this way and agree with the silence thing for sure but they dont take polls on this kind of thing and the Musical Directors in many parishes are becoming a bigger and bigger role I dare say even in the small time I have been a Catholic. In my parish they got rid of the Mary statue and the Joseph to make room for the entertainment crew up front. Mary is now a wall hanging on the RIGHT side of the altar.

Life is not always a bowl of cherries is it? I get upset but then I move forward in prayer and hope that all these well meaning people end up realizing someday how these things effect so many people and make them unable to focus on whats happening at the Mass.

What a rant! Sorry!

Also, the singing during communion is my favorite and saddest part. My church plays sad songs about Christ. Do you know, ā€œHere I am Lordā€, and ā€œJesus, Jesusā€, that makes the whole communion. I get very emotional with the words.

So, what is wrong with music?? We have a choir with a beautiful organist and our choir is very well known. They have beautiful voices. At Christmas when they sing my favorite, ā€œO Holy Nightā€, and ā€œO Come All Ye Faithfulā€, Silent Night". It is so powerful with the trumpets blowing and the choir.
LOVE OUR CHRISTMAS MUSIC AND MUSIC ABOUT OUR LORD DURING COMMUNION!! REJOICE AND BE GLAD!!

Celibacy should be optional for diocesan priests, mandatory for the Orders.

The lack of priests would go away and the growth of the Church would be wondrous to behold … as it was in the early years after Christ.

Did you forget about the rites that allow this? I assume you are a Latin Rite like myself.

Be happy your Priest isnt too busy in the ER with his kids or wife when you need last rites.

There isn’t anything in the Catholic Church I don’t like but there is something about Catholics I don’t like. I don’t like (not hate) lukewarm, non-praticing Catholics, and Catholic liberals who want to change the Catholic Church teachings on issues like abortion, women priesthood, and homosexuality etc…

I wish all Catholics were all obedient to the Catholic Church so Jesus would be happy.

I also have bad opinions of Non-Catholic Christians not practicing their faith like going to Church on Sundays. I know some Protestants who just read the Bible and don’t go to Sunday service. Does that sound Christian practice to you? I don’t think so.

Mannyfit-

I forgot to wish you a happy Thanksgiving! I pray for the troops daily as we all should.šŸ˜‰

after a quick google search— I come up with zippo that I can buy at a regular supermarket!

This is a weird thing! I need to get up to speed on the reasons and the whole story from both sides before I get really worked up as I tend to do:(

This Kosher thing is bugging me and I dont know why it is. Its just confusing.

There is nothing I would change in the Catholic Church.

I love it just the way it is.

A beautiful Castle where each room is filled with more treasures given to us by Jesus Christ than we could imagine. The images, spirituality and mystery that makes up the Catholic Church. Priceless!:yup:

:rotfl: Men! God bless them

I’d like more unity in the Christian church.

I grew up non-denominational… I wish they’d be more solid in what they teach instead of vague but then they wouldn’t be non-denominational anymore.

Now I’m in Assembly of God. I don’t agree that you don’t ā€œhave the fullness of the Holy Spiritā€ if you don’t speak in tounges.

Start my own church??!?? No Way!

How Sweet! šŸ™‚ A good analogy!

Sure.

I am Catholic and I really don’t like that the Catholic Church always explains everything so well that my opinions on any issue, if different than the teachings of the Church, are left in a smoldering pile of rubble and I am left with only 2 options:
  1. Change my view to be in line with The Church
  2. Leave The Church
I don’t like changing myself. It’s difficult, and sometimes painful. But I allow it anyway.

Since the OP asked for something specific: The teaching of The Church on Sacramental Marriage v. legal marriage as pertaining to annulment and the marital act.
