I’m just interested!
Not here either. Well…I have a problem with CCC841. But that is my problem.Nope, not here.![]()
What is it?yes…part of why I’m not Catholic.
Ah well I’m from UK and I thought it was all about the great schism and then Henry VIII doing the whole C of E thing. But that makes senseNope. That’s called being Catholic. If you disagree (protest) the morals of the Church, you are a Protestant.
So simple - never will understand why folks don’t get this.

Name any of the great moral quandaries of our time; I’m probably on the other side of the fence. What is it?
When you get down to it, Henry VIII was protesting the moral teachings of the Church on marriage and divorce.Ah well I’m from UK and I thought it was all about the great schism and then Henry VIII doing the whole C of E thing. But that makes sense
I agree with most of that. I’d make the following change in the above statement for me though: “…than just blindly accepting everything as if the Church were master and you were dog”.But I do not think it is either wrong, nor does it make you un-Catholic, to harbor private doubts.
I fact I think it is probably healthy, God after all gave us a mind and the power of reason. Better that you eventually reason your way to agreement, than just blindly accept every teaching as if God were master and you were dog. So that may mean for a time of discernment yes, one will be in disagreement on this or that topic. God wants you to come to Him of your own free will, with love in your heart, not because you’re his slave.
