That is why I am here, to see if there is any way that we can agree at least on one thing, salvation.
Unless we are all right.
I am sure you will agree there is no way that we all can be right,
I believe not. Therefore I believe someone has a false belief.
Only God knows who.
VARC
I’ve read you ask that question before. Might I ask why you are concerned about it?
Sure you may ask and I will be happy:) to tell you.
I am concerned because as a child of God I have a passion, a passion for all the lost souls of this world.
I see you and everybody else in this Roman Catholic community as my brother or sister in Jesus Christ, as is everyone else in this
world God created. If they are human, they are my brother and sister in Christ.
What I am concerned about is that we as a christian family as a whole, ALL OF US, do not all share the same conviction I do and strive to see each other as God sees us.
Here is what I believe God sees as he looks down at us,
we ALL fall into one of 2 groups as follows,
Group A : All those who are Saved
Group B: All those who are not Saved
If you are in the group of being saved you are then currently in
Group B: All those who are not Saved
Which Group are you in now?
If there was a way to be in Group A,
who would like to know how?
There is only one way and Jesus was clear about it
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
Thank you CalmDownWisWins Post #39 for your comment,
It shows that you have truly taken a stand, which I for one respect enormously!
To which I say next. Who else will take a stand for the love of Jesus and God
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John3:16
Yes, I Am Venting,

if I don’t who will?

love me or hate me, I am giving you my heart right now.

put your mind at ease concerning this question.

Sorry VARC, I can not put my mind at ease. Not at least until the last lost soul is saved or God calls me home.

While I am still walking the ground of earth, there is too much work to be done. Eternal lives are at stake, I made a committment to God to honor Him and spread the good news of the Gospel

Do you feel guilty or are you afraid?

Varc,

Feel guilty? about caring and loving?** NEVER**

Afraid? No.** I am not afraid**. David was not afraid when he faced Goliath. Tell me why should I be afraid?

After all Jesus is Above All that I can ever imagine to get in the way of Him and receiving the love and grace He has for me and for all of you

Above everything else He thought about you.

I pray that God blesses you abundantly with the message of the following video

above all

It is because of the message presented in the video and God’s word and promise, that if I die in my sleep, I believe by faith, I will wake up in eternity in heaven.

I hope and pray that God gives you the same Gift He has given me.

God bless all of you,

truth

Hi MarcoPolo

to my comment,
Marco Polo, No. I am sorry, by my questioning I am making it sound like the Roman Catholic church is condemning me as the person I am right now. I do not feel that from the Catholic Church or anyone in this community.
you replied
Whew! I am glad of that. I know you did not have the best experience from Catholics in your younger day, nor did some of them represent Catholicism well to you. So I am glad that when I see you frequently asking if the Catholic Church condemns you, that it is not because of a victim-mentality. That is a temptation for many people. **Carry on, friend! ** 😃
Thank you Marco, friend has a nice ring to it, as you are my friend:thumbsup:

I did want to let you know that I just answered very passionately to VARC.

I come to the conclusion, if anyone were to tell me that I am destined for Hell, in goes it one ear and out the other.

God is my judge, no one else. the only reason I got passionate is…

I am deeply concerned about the lost souls of the world who are seeking the truth looking in.

If they see words like “you will most certaintly be damned” why would they want to come in to a what they heard was a “loving” Christian home?

I do not have a good answer for that question.
I do not believe anyone does

Hi CalmDownWisWins

I am still working on all your long posts.

I came across this one

to my faith comment,
BTW, I now believe that salvation can only be found through Jesus Christ.
No church, prayer, person or book can save a soul.
Even just believing Jesus does not save you.
I believe, believing in Jesus is evidence of the faithful and there is a big difference between believing and believing in Jesus Christ.
I believe, the resouces I listed, help in directing the “path” to salvation, but I believe the ***only way ***to be saved is first by faith in Jesus Christ and then act according to God’s word as evidence of that faith.
And you said
WOW! That’s exactly what I believe too!

WOW WOW WOW EEEE 😃
are we all on the same accord when it comes to how we believe is the only way to be saved?

And you’re not in full communion with the Church WHY, again!?

I do not believe in the other interpretation of scripture in which Roman Catholics do. For one I do not believe in the apotolic succession.

Is that going to prevent me from going to heaven.

I believe not. How about you?

That is the reason for the heated debates in all these thread between catholic and non catholics, We are alot closer to what you believe than you realize.

this post is evidence of that.

God bless

truth

I have been pondering this discussion overnight…I may not be able to participate today (too busy with other things), but I have a question for “truth” and all of you can take this wherever it leads you…My question is…
Is there hope for me even though I am a Roman Catholic?
I gather that you left the Catholic Church yourself (at least I think you posted that at one point), but at any rate you are not Catholic now and you reject Catholic doctrines. Can a person be faithful to Catholicism, believing all that the Church teaches, hold all of its doctrines to be true, and still be saved?
If yes, then why did you leave, and why does it matter what we believe?
If no - if Catholics are going to hell - then is it really so awful that some Catholics say you are not saved either? Aren’t we really just drawing our own lines around what we believe God desires from us? We’re just rehashing the same old doctrinal dispute.
When it comes down to it, what you really want Catholics to admit in this thread is that “Faith Alone” is the only means to salvation and Faith Alone gives you a %100 guarantee that you will be saved. That would mean we would have to abandon the Church’s teaching. You want us to say that all we have to do is proclaim Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior and then we have a total guarantee of getting to heaven. So in effect your answer to my question is NO, a faithful Catholic cannot be saved unless he or she first walks away from the Church and embraces your theology.

You are welcome. 😃 In defense of varc, I understood him to be saying if you know yourself that the Church is true and you reject it you are doomed. He understood you to be saying this. I did not understand you to be saying this. Either way, it is not productive for you to focus on a lone voice as what the Church teaches. The vast majority of knowledgeable Catholics will explain it to you in a loving way. :o

May I ask? Do you pray for your salvation? To be lead to heaven? Or since you understand it guaranteed, do you focus on other prayers?

Where we differ, Whatis, is what constitutes “belief” (“believeth”).

Those not in the Church (Catholic) are not prohibited from salvation, but their chances are reduced enormously in direct relation to their “distance” from being in full communion with the Church (Catholic) **AND their personal culpability **in remaining AT that “distance”.

Yet, no man may proclaim any other man damned! It ain’t our job!

But, a very very isolated “island native” (who listens to natural law and does good) may very well be very much more likely to be saved than a highly informed person (of the details of the Church) who is really quite holy who refuses the “last step” of reunion with the Church.

To those who are given much, much is required.

I do not believe in the other interpretation of scripture in which Roman Catholics do. For one I do not believe in the apotolic succession.

Not believing any single dogma of the Church makes you a non-Catholic, but doesn’t make you damned.

BUT, holding onto a single mortal sin, one of which is to not accept that all dogmas of the Church are true, at your end, when God, in His mysterious way, allows you to choose either the truth or “your truth”, will pull you into hell regardless of all the “good” you’ve done.

My suggestion, now that you are aware of the truth, is to let go of that which beckons you to hang-onto them as “precious assurance” and “unnecessary gifts from God” and avoid the assurance of hell for taking Satan’s bait.

Hi all,

I have been in conversations with many Roman Catholics trying to get an answer to a question I been asking in numerous threads.

It is my hope I can get an answer which we all can learn from.

The question at hand, based on the scenario I presented below,

Is there hope for me to spend eternity in heaven?
I have not followed this thread. But the title question kind of answers itself.

If a person is asking the question, then the person needs to be looking into the Catholic faith seriously, without prejudice, and starting from the proposition that the Catholic Church on earth is, evidentially, very likely the Church that Jesus promised to build as the incarnational representation of His Body.

At least the Catholic Church, if nothing else, has the paper trail.

People, you cannot be saved unless you are in the Catholic church where Scripture never changed and the Bible is the same from day one. Period.

We all agree with you, except in your vague use of the word “in”.

Please see the Church (CCC) docs as it relates to “salvation potential for others”.

What is it you don’t understand here?
I don’t “not understand anything” here at all!

You are correct in your claim. You are also incomplete in explaining it.

It is possible to be “within the Church” without being even aquainted with the idea of Jesus, as per the catechism.

How can you not be aquainted with Jesus and still attend Mass?

Uh… 🙂

I’m not talking about me. I’m talking about someone who has never had any exposure to Christianity whatsoever.

It IS possible for one who has no exposure to Christianity to be ultimately saved by some mysterious way of God.

See below (and environs):

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God(Romans 3:23) It does not matter what church or who you are, everyone falls under this verse. Here are few more that might help you as well Romans: 6:23, 3:10,11 5:12, 5:8 10:9,13, and if I can be any of help email me.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
We already call upon the Lord’s name.

Sincerely,

De Maria

So you know for a fact, that if you sould die then you would go to Heaven to be with the Lord for ever? Cause like he said Jesus, you must be born again.

Catholics are born again - by water and the spirit, just as Christ commanded (John 3:5). 🙂

How can you not be aquainted with Jesus and still attend Mass?
That’s pretty easy! Every pregnant woman that I see at Church is carrying a person who does this. They’re called unborn babies, or fetuses, if you prefer. If they should die (God forbid) before having the chance to be baptized, I’m pretty sure that God will not damn them to Hell.

Or do you think he will?

Hi AquinasT
I have a question for “truth” and all of you can take this wherever it leads you…My question is…
Is there hope for me even though I am a Roman Catholic?

I am glad you asked, I was waiting for someone to reverse the question.

Absolutely there is hope, I repeat I AM NOT GOD. And only God knows your heart.

I gather that you left the Catholic Church yourself

correct, I left the Roman Catholic church I believe I am very much part of Jesus’ catholic “universal” church as I believe you are too

the meaning of catholic is universal according to Merriam Webster Dict.

you are not Catholic now and you reject Catholic doctrines.

the chatecism, council of trent, vatican doctrines
that is correct I do not follow the teachings of these Roman Catholic documents

Can a person be faithful to Catholicism, believing all that the Church teaches, hold all of its doctrines to be true, and still be saved?

In due respect that is a judgement call which only God can make

However, let’s look at communion for example, and see where it goes

The Holy Eucharist. If I were to return, to the Roman Catholic church I could not say Amen in agreement when the Priest says “This is my body” because I would not be accepting the host as the priest intended to give it to me and that is the real presence of the Body and Blood of Jesus.

In our church we celebrate communion as a spiritual remembrance and appreciation for what Jesus did for us at Calvary.

We use “bread” and “wine” as emblems. As I am sure you are aware of.

As for how God views our differences in how we celebrate comminion, ???

any volunteers?

I will pass

But I do believe in questions and not answers so…

Heres the question nobody but God can answer,

Is God, when John Doe is on the judgement seat in eternity, going to deny him heaven because he took communion all these years under false pretenses and say to him,

A)
Sorry John Doe, The Holy Eucharist is the Real Presence of Jesus. You heard the truth from all those Roman Catholics and denied it.
